I love ‘em, but can’t grow ‘em!
Thanks, Ellen. Same here. I don’t fuss with my houseplants, so I’ve only been successful with the miniatures that I picked up at HD. 😀
Wow. Does that ever pop!
What a flamboyant beauty 😊
Thank you, Dale. At first, I passed this one by, but something called me back to it. 🙂
I’m so glad it did!
❤
This is another really beautiful photograph.
Thank you kindly, Anne!
Feels like summer! Gorgeous photo Eliza! Can you grow orchids outside in the summer?
Thank you, Maria. My attempts at orchid growing haven’t been all that successful, except for two miniatures that I grow on my kitchen windowsill. My houseplants suffer neglect as I don’t remember to fertilize or repot often enough, alas!
I’m happy to hear you’re not perfect 😉
Ha, far from it! 😉
So pretty
Thank you, Sheree. 🙂
It’s beautiful.
Thank you, Madhuri!
Wow, beautiful !
Thank you!
Pingback: Silent Sunday – Yellow Orchid | Purplerays
It’s one of my favorite shades of yellow, although it’s not a color I usually associate with orchids. I know they come in all shades, but in our grocery stores we’re always awash in pink, purple, and white orchids. This one’s quite different, and especially beautiful.
Thank you, Linda. This greenhouse has an outstanding collection of unusual orchids, gorgeous in the winter months, when most of them bloom.
Beautiful! Happy Sunday.
Thank you, Judy, same back at ya!
Love orchids. That one is a beauty.
Thank you, Laurie. They are all so varied and beautiful. I love the apricot center on this one.
Just sharing some sunshine!
Yes, enjoy your day! Stay safe during the storm, I read the coast will have terrific winds. 😦
We’re getting lots of rain and the wind is starting to pick up.
Such a joyful photo! I guess it’s the yellow that is so happy, but the folds and undulations evoke dance and movement. It’s a lovely shot for a (hopefully!) sunny Sunday!
Thank you, Tina. Glad it lifts… and yes, here today is blissfully sunny…Monday and Tuesday will be a different story. Carpe diem!
Lovely capture to brighten our day. Thank you Eliza 💐
Thank you, Val! ❤
What a beauty! So delicate and perfect.
Thanks, Alice. Smith has a beautiful collection with a full range of species and cultivars. They do a great job!
So well captured. Nature is wonderful!
Thank you, Diana, agreed!
Delightfully cheery! 🤗🥰💛
Thank you, Susan!
A ray of sunshine!
Yes, it felt like it. 🙂 Thanks, Sandy!
You bet.
Hi Eliza. The only word for that bloom is weird!!
MJ
Ha, I guess they aren’t for everyone! 😉
What detail you’ve gotten, Eliza — and what a gorgeous bloom!
Thank you, Debbie!
It’s very pretty, Eliza! I’ve never tried my hand at orchids.
Thank you, Belinda. Some are easier than others, this type is among those. 🙂
Beautiful capture 🌟🌟
Thank you, Karen! 🧡
*SIGH* I “need” more orchids.
If I could grow them outside like you can, I definitely would!
What an amazing colour
Yellow is not a common colour in orchids, it seems, esp. in the larger sized ones.
Very passionate-looking. 🙂
Orchids have a singular beauty, for sure.
Beautiful! I felt like the bottom one was blushing or bowing. 🙂
Thank you, Donna!
I’ve been losing hope over how late spring’s arrival may be this year with winters recent bad attitude, but this beautiful photo and burst of yellow has given me some hope!😁
Glad to hear it. We’re getting another big storm tomorrow night, but sooner or later, spring will win. All I have to think about is how hot summer can be and I’m content with the cooler winter temps!
It is orchid time and this is a lovely pic. 😊
Thank you, Pepper!
Stellar!
Thank you, Susie!
Lovely orchid, Eliza!
Thank you, Steve. My annual winter visit to Smith, such a nice escape. 🙂
💛Gorgeous, Eliza💛
Thank you, Jane!
Oh, I absolutely adore this. Honestly, you ARE Mother Nature.
So glad, Isha. 🙂 I may not be Mother Nature, but I certainly worship her. 😉
How could one not? 💖🌹💕
Indeed. 🙂
