The reflections between the shards of ice seem to represent a glimpse into warmer weather. This is a lovely photograph, Eliza.
That was my first observation too!!!
Thank you, Anne. The light was just right, and yes, the days are now getter well above freezing giving the snow a chance to melt. Spring is around the corner!
Very Nice
Thanks, Greg!

Definitely need no words Eliza when your pix speak volume. Great shot!!!
Thank you, Dee! x
Beautiful. I enjoyed enlarging it on my screen and simply gazing into the various textures so wonderfully visible in this photograph. So nice, Eliza!
Thank you, Carrie. I’m happy you took the time to immerse yourself in it. A universe in a puddle! 🙂 It lends itself well to more than a passing glance. ❤
Indeed it does, Eliza. ❤️
Very nice! I really like the colors and the abstract patterns.
Thank you, Laurie. That midnight blue captivates me. 🙂
Warped by frozen water. So much more to see in reflections. As of yesterday morning we had ‘snow-out’…on our property.
Wonderful… being north-facing and wooded, we still have a bit to go yet. But these next warm days, will make a good dent in it!
Nice shot….it would make a good jigsaw puzzle!
Thanks, challenging it would be! 🙂
I admire this photo. Nature offers and you accept.
A beautiful way to put it, Susie. Thank you. 🙂
Gorgeous! The texture changes and the shades of blue are extraordinary. 💙
Thank you, Donna. I happened upon it at just the right moment and had to get a shot or two, glad I did. 🙂
I thought it was an ice storm on the trees at first glance.
The eye and mind can create many possibilities!
Snowflakes, or stars? It’s fun seeing them in both ways.
I wondered that myself… it may be refracted light from the moon off of snowy ice crystals. It looks rather celestial whatever it is.
I love the blue and the ice together! Beauty!
Thank you, Dale! With days now above freezing (yay!), we’re seeing more of these thaw/freeze puddles. 🙂
Us too! I am so happy. Today I was practically melting out there 😉
These days make me so happy… like a weight has been lifted! 😀
Me too!!! 🙂
Great. I love the colour palette and contrast provided by the ice’s incisive straight lines.
Thank you, Allison. Those razor lines make the shot, methinks. 🙂
A beautiful image and reflection Eliza! 💜
Thank you, Xenia! x
What a wonderful capture that is, Eliza. Your observant eye finds art wherever you go!
Thank you, Kris! “Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old.” – Franz Kafka. I hope that’ll give me a few more years. 😀
And a great reflection, too!
Thank you, Sandy!
Incredible reflection! You find beauty everywhere.
Thank you, Ellen! Trained from a young age. 😉 And for further incentive: “Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old.” – Franz Kafka.
Eliza, if you hadn’t told me this was an icy puddle, I’d have assumed you were looking UP and seeing these tree limbs!!
It does look a bit like a night sky, I must admit!
Lovely, if chilly reflection Eliza
Thank you, Karina. Warmer days are on the way!
So interesting! It does speak the imagination!
It does! Thanks, Val. ❤
Winter looks like it’s hanging on. Icy beauty!
Thanks, Belinda. I think we have winter on the run!
Hi Eliza. Now you’re just getting too clever!!
We’re warming up in France but rainy. Hoping for a dry sunny patch next week – daffodils are looking great and trees are beginning to green up. Now I am off to the dentist – again – to get a tooth pulled out – deep joy.
MJ
Ha, thanks, MJ! Your weather sounds lovely, even with the rain. Hope your empty socket heals well.
So do I! I’m starving now but got to be careful what I eat until it heals up. Grhhh..
The blue is stunning! Love the play of ice, sky and branches…
Thank you, Barbara!
Reminds me of an Escher piece. Nicely seen, Eliza.
Thank you, Steve!
It looks like a beautiful winter scene!
Thank you, Andrea. We’re in that in-between time where winter and spring overlap, but we know spring will prevail!
A riddle of lines. Would make a nice abstract painting!
Thank you, Adele. I found it quite mesmerizing!
Excellent abstract image, Eliza. Wonderful. 💙🤍
Thank you, Jane! 🙂
An amazing photo Eliza! Love all the different shapes and textures in this photo.
Thank you, Agnes. It reminds me of a starry night. 🙂
And Starry night is such a beautiful and inspiring painting!
