This is what we woke up to this morning. A foot of heavy, sticky snow fell yesterday through last night, downing branches and trees. We lost power twice, about ten hours total. Fortunately, we have a back up generator, so we weren’t inconvenienced too much.
I hope my shrubs will recover! However, it is beautiful, is it not?
Walking in a winter wonderland… a holiday surprise!
What a gorgeous surprise! Enjoy your day! 🙂
Thanks, hope yours was a good one!
What a difference a day makes. Yesterday was Nov.; today is January! Blessings to your plants. Maybe they are happy to be stretching into another position. Wet snow yoga practice!
LOL! Tree yoga! I didn’t have time to get to some of them until this afternoon. I’m hoping they bounce back. We have to tackle the broken branches tomorrow. Hope your T-day was a good one and the family was able to travel without incident. The roads weren’t so great today.
Our T-Day was postponed to today because of the storm. So instead of Black Friday, we will have a very WHITE Friday!
How beautiful!
Now as long as it doesn’t come over here in January…;)
You sure you don’t want any? I’d be happy to share! 😉
Rather not, thank you… not for a while yet…. 🙂
Wow!! I love walking in fresh, new snow like these pictures show. There is something so quiet and serene about it. (Although I know it has caused difficulties for so many…)
Yes, the timing is unfortunate with folks stuck in airports and roadways. These storms are tough to prepare for!
But the forest was soooo beautiful today!
Beautiful!
🙂
That’s the phrase I think of when I see pictures of snow-a winter wonderland. Very beautiful.
Thank you Karen. When it snows like this, it is magical.
Wow Eliza. That looks wonderful. What a great Thanksgiving surprise:)
Thanks, it put a dent in many people’s homecoming plans. Oh well, tomorrow I’ll be in the garden digging out and releasing the bent over branches. I’m hoping they will bounce back!
Gorgeous! Hope all is well for Thanksgiving!
Thank you, Dor. It was not the best day for travel, but we managed okay. Hope your day was a good one!
So special and beautiful to look at. Thanks for sharing Eliza.
Karen
Thank you Karen. It is always something to wake up and look out the window to see a fresh blanket of snow.
Oh, lucky you! How beautiful.
Definitely beautiful and I hope they are okay.
Ahhh soooo lovely, Eliza! Stunning photos! ❤
Thanks so much – I do love that winter wonderland look!
Me too! 🙂
I agree beautiful, Eliza. Yet I have had my share of snow lately and it is nice to see green grass again. Yes your Roses will be all right. Mine get snowed on every year and they make it through. (((HUGS))) Amy
Good to know, Amy, thanks. You definitely are an expert when it comes to winter! 😉
That I am, Eliza. Not to worry. Your precious Roses are fine. Love, Amy
Lovely! I’m an envious of your blue skies. We have the snow to match, but haven’t seen such clear skies in days. Hope you had a wonderful day!
Thanks, Heather. The blue skies have been rare for us as well. Strange weather patterns these days. That gorgeous sky lasted only a few hours, but I was happy to have even that short time. Grab it while we can. Hope the skies will clear for you soon!
Now you’ve got me humming Bing Crosby! Lovely!!!!
😀
What a beautiful scene, Eliza. I could look at it for hours (if I had a nice fireplace at my back). Hope your Thanksgiving was full of love.
Other than the roads being less than ideal, it was a good day. Our friend has two English setters, one a puppy, so it was nice to have some doggy love. They were sweet. Did you go away for your holiday?
We drove to San Francisco and had a wonderful four day holiday. Back home straight through SF to LA on Saturday. Turns out it rained heavily behind our backs, but we were unaware of the forecast.
Doggie love is the best dessert for a holiday. When we got home our dog was overjoyed to see us, as was our “step-dog” who lives next door. We have a great pet-sitter that we’re very thankful for. Our dog stayed at her house for the holiday.
I’m glad you had a little get-away. Just enough to satisfy. ‘Absence makes the heart grow fonder.’
Ah, a good pet-sitter is worth their weight in gold!
Just beautiful:-) all wrapped in winter white:-)
Thanks, how’s your weather these days?
Today it is lovely-crisp blue skies, sunshine + 36 degrees…now that is warm-heading out to take some compost to my pile. I have to say, I don’t mind this weather at all!
+ I am sorry your par-cel seed is late…I’ll get it to you the next week:-) I was waiting for another seed source to share-let me know how they do this next year. I will be starting mine after the holidays:-)
No worries. Life is a carnival – enjoy the ride!
Dreamy blue and white 🙂
LOTS of white! 🙂 Thanks, Francis!
