  1. Another flower with multiple shades of colors Eliza, are we back in the hippie era? 🤣❤️🙏

Such a super unusual flower. Alas, no volunteers between the patio bricks this year.

  3. I love these so much!

    A lovey capture 💐

  6. I love that flower! My mother used to grow them in her tiny yard and they brought such an elegant burst to it, thus proving that even a tiny space can be abloom with color.

  7. Those were my Dad’s favorites.

Their light airiness is so appealing, and the variation in color only adds to their attractiveness.

I’ve never grown these, though I think they do okay here. I’ve always thought they were very pretty flowers, elegant and unusual.

They are a great annual, cut flower, and self-sow readily, so one has them forever. 🙂 I just weed out what I don’t want in the spring. Very economical!

Cleome flowers always make be think of cat whiskers 😉 I do need to try growing them next year – I saw some at our local botanic garden yesterday (although they did look a bit shabby but then that may have been heat-related).

I’m not familiar with these, but I do appreciate their lovely, delicate color!

  14. Always a lovely flower – some years they appear in my garden, others they don’t. Time to reseed them!

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

I love to see what crosses the bees made the previous summer. I think only once did I have to resow, they tend to be quite abundant seeders in my garden!

  15. Delicate flower, so pretty too!

A pretty image of a lovely (and lacy) flower.

  17. I love them (apart from their smell and spines!!) . Great photo showing their exotic lightness, Eliza.

  18. So delicate looking as well as pretty.
