It is exquisite! So much like my favourite poppy (I posted it a few minutes ago)!
Thank you, Maria. Poppies are simply gorgeous flowers!
I love the beautiful variation in these poppies. Here’s one of mine…
This year red, mauve and grape are in close proximity… we’ll see what sows next year!
What a fabulous color! I have never seen such a poppy. Wowsah!
Thank you, Laurie. An old heirloom, they self-sow every year. A marvel!
Beautiful!
Gracias, Maria!
Fabulous colour
Merci!
Wow! One of my favorite colors!
Thanks, Barbara. These are so special, I look forward to them every July.
What a gorgeous colour!
Thank you, I love the purples!
With good reason!
How beautiful! I had no idea poppies came in that color!
Yes, there is quite a variety of color in this species. Mauve, grape and grey are now widely available.
Oh, doesn’t she say hello Eliza. A delightful child of the sun 🤗❤️🙏
They really out on a show in early July!
😊🪻🪻
Happy days!
WHAT a beauty!!!
Thank you, Anne. They bloom only a day, but the first two weeks of July is filled with their beauty. And finally the honeybees have found them, I was getting worried!
Gorgeous! Enjoy, Honey Bees!
Thanks! Yes, if you grow them, they will come! 😉
That is a lovely photo, Eliza! Fine detail and that colour 😊
Thanks, Belinda. Such beauty from such a tiny seed!
Spectacular! 🤩🙌🏼
Thank you, Susan! 💜
Absolutely glorious, Eliza! 💜
Thank you, Jane! For two weeks in July, they put on quite the show. 🙂
Plum, pretty and perfect!

Thank you, Kris!
That is is stunning color! Is it as prolific/hardy as the more traditional reds?
Thank you, Tina. Yes, it is. It puts forth gazillion seeds, all I need to save is one head. I could get a quart of seed if I let them all mature, enough to seed an acre!
Just Mauvelous!
Ha, good one, Sandy! 😉
Have a great weekend, Eliza!
🙂 Thanks, same to you!
That is gorgeous!
Thank you!
That is absolutely gorgeous. Is it one from your garden? 😊
Thank you, Pepper. Yes, from my garden… I save a seed pod every year to sprinkle around for next year’s crop. They sprout in spring and in two months flowers form. A great show and then they are gone. 🙂
You’re amazing. 😊
Ha! the hardest part is remembering where I sprinkled seed the previous fall… often a surprise! At least I recognize the seedlings. 😉
😂
What a glorious colour Eliza! 💜 xxx
Thank you, Xenia! 🙂
Gorgeous! 💜
Thank you, Cathy!
Love the petal and center details – so pretty.
Thank you, Tom!
I don’t remember seeing a poppy with the four dark patches on the petals. It reminds me of a Greek or Maltese cross.
Art mimicking nature perhaps? 😉 This poppy originated from the eastern Mediterranean, so anything is possible!
WOW
Thanks, Cindy!
Extraordinary – love it Eliza. 👏
Thank you, Flavia. Not a common colour, it seems. 💜
You must have been happy with this portrait.
Yes, thanks. 🙂
OMG, this looks gorgeous.
Thank you, Rupali! 🙂
Wow, that’s gorgeous! And so unusual.
Thank you, Monika. Bees really love them, too!
Wow! Divine 💕💕
Thank you, Karen. Glad you liked it!
Amazing! This flower just demands attention. There is no ignoring it!
Thank you, Tanja. And happily, they have drawn in honeybees. I was worried as I hadn’t see any all spring. Also today there were many metallic green bees on my newly opened coneflowers. Now they all know there is yummy stuff in my garden. 🙂
Let’s hope there will be many more bees in your garden.
🙏🏼 🐝
A beauty and awesome capture! Love seeing that center detail.
Thank you, Denise. Poppies are pretty awesome!
What a lovely colour Beautiful capture 🙂
Thanks, I love this colour!
