My yard is abloom with many kinds of Narcissus, planted over the several decades that we’ve lived here. Yesterday’s rain pushed a few down onto their faces, so I plucked a handful for a vase. I added one ‘Apricot Emperor’ tulip to the center.

What a lovely bouquet of springtime cheer!
Many thanks, Monika!
🌺🌺🎉🌺🌺
Bright and beautiful!
Thank you, Donna!
As always —you nailed it: balance, size, visual flow and harmony!!! Lovely 🌺❤️🌺
Aw, thanks so much, Dawn. 💕
Warm, rich colours… And speaking of rich.. those fancy-ass names! 👑
Thanks, Isha. Ha, yes. Gardeners like their Latin and cultivar names (it’s so the envious can purchase their own). 🙂
So beautiful!
I can sense spring spirit from here
Thank you, happy days now that the earth has awoken from its slumber.
I can feel you smiling as you write this. In your element again I take it 🤣 Lovely display kind lady, thank you 🤗❤️🙏
Thank you, Mark. 🙂
All the spring flowers are very cheering and certainly help to lift the spirits. A lovely vase to bring into the house.
Thank you, Brian!
Yellow is definitely the color of the season right now, and a beautiful color it is.
Thank you, Judy. Gorgeous days!
So pretty Eliza I also have a vase full for chilly mornings still ahead 🙂
Thank you, Eunice. These warmer days are pushing them ahead.
Wow here on the coast today mid 80’s
A sunny arrangement — lovely!
Thank you, Barbara!
It can take so little to evoke memories. You mention ‘posy,’ and I’m back to my jump-rope days: “Ring around the rosy, a pocket full of posy…” The history of that childhood verse isn’t nearly as pleasant as your bouquet, though!
Thanks Linda. Yes, a ring-like pox rash and the only thing they had for it was a pocketful of dried herbs!
You have so many different Narcissus. How many individual plants do you have?
Thank you, I must have at least a dozen varieties, with hundreds of blooms spread over 2 acres. For years, I added new ones, but now I mostly divide out the ones I have.
Wow!
How lovely with that beautiful centre one! And I admit to smiling at the “rain pushed a few down to their faces”. Bully rain!
Ha, yes, though not a punishing rain, those doubles can’t stand up hardly at all even on a sunny day. Thanks, Dale!
Haha! Gotcha!
The combination of the tulip with the narcissus is super. I can only imagine how your yard looks…
Thank you, Tom. Daffodil heaven right now. 🙂
Quite beautiful. Love the tulip. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much!
I can almost smell them!
These actually do have a nice light scent. Some daffs can be stinky, IMO!
There is enough for two vases. Those are the sort of narcissus that I know as daffodil. What is the distinction?
All are Narcissus by genus, but daffodils to me are a single trumpet, not doubles or butterfly/split-cups.
Oh, that is interesting that the standards for the definition are different, but now that you mention it, I remember this from somewhere. I figured that the small and fragrant flowers, such as Paperwhites, are narcissus, and that the bigger and more colorful but not fragrant sort are daffodils. That definition of daffodil includes doubles and butterfly or split cups.
Love the red tulip claiming it’s space at the centre of it all! 😆 Everything’s happening at once eh?
Thanks Chris. It always feels slow at the beginning of April, then like a freight train, gains momentum as the days pass.
I am fascinated by the greeny-yellow daffodil – I love its quirkiness! Thanks for sharing some of your spring bounty, Eliza
Thank you, Cathy. That is an old heirloom that came with the house, no ID!
Wow so colourful flowers 🌹
Thank you, Priti!

Thank you, Susan!
They are amazing Eliza!
Thank you, Maria!
I love your mix of Narcissi, Eliza – they’re perfect paired with a tulip!

Thank you, Kris. I don’t grow a lot of tulips because of the deer, so I only spared one for harvest. 🙂
So nice to see IAVOM back! That’s a beautiful display, Eliza!
Thank you, Belinda! I love making arrangements from my own stock (cheaper, too, ha!)
😁 I bet it feels good to have those flowers to pick Eliza! They do look gorgeous with that orange tulip picking out the centres of the daffodils!
Thank you, Cathy. Such a delight to have my own fresh floral supply again!
Love the colors today. Apricot Emperor is a beauty. I think I have seen one too many Red Emperors!
Thank you, Amy. I’m a fan of apricot, it works so well with other colors.
Spring beauty 🌺🌺🌺
Thank you, Karen. 🙂 💕
Beautiful!
Thank you, Pepper!
Joyful!! Narcissus are such do-ers!
Thank you, Allison!
Very pretty bouquet — springlike and so cheery!
Thank you, Debbie!
Very pretty bouquet — springlike and so cheery!
How beautiful !!
Thank you!
Eliza, I can just about smell their fragrance over here. 😊
🙂 Thanks, Flavia. It has a delicate scent and lasted well so far.
What a lovely springtime bouquet. I find the white-yellow-orange color combination very uplifting.
Thank you, Tanja, glad you found it pleasing!
Love the tulip and wonderful arrangement!! I finally found some tulips today.🙂
Yay, it can’t be spring without tulips, ha!
Great narcissus variety and I love the tulip’s color.
Thank you, Susie. 🙂
