Wonderful spot!
Thank you, Sandy, we love it!
What an absolutely delightful winter area, Eliza. 💕 Is Wren a Labrador? You might have noticed “your white cane chair” on my front veranda the other day, although mine is a rocking chair.
Thanks, Joanne. Wren is a lab mix, getting up in years, too. That chair is an old find from the transfer station. 😉 Fixed the blown out seat with a piece of wood and added cushions, works great!
That looks pretty cozy, despite all the snow outside. Where’s the cat hiding?
Thanks, Kris. I expect she is in front of the wood stove, her favorite winter spot!
This looks like a marvellous place to settle down to read when you have the time!
It is a lovely sunny spot to settle into. Feb/March are the best… good for an afternoon nap on the sofa in there, too. 😉
Sanctuary.
That is it in a nutshell! Thanks, Cindy. x
Such lovely pictures! 😍
Thanks, Isha… come by for a cuppa! 😉
Oh my goodness! *Dream*
🙂 May dreams come true.
❤️
Your plants look really happy there, and what a lovely view from those tall windows. A perfect place for plants (and dogs!) in winter. 😃
Thanks, Cathy. Yes, it is a nice spot. No tropicals, as it is too cool, but on a sunny day in Feb/March, it is the spot to be!
How lovely
Merci!
De rien
Hi Eliza. What a lovely space to be. Spring in a glasshouse. Where you have snow, we have mud and floods and endless rain. Thankfully we can escape back to France this weekend!!
MJ
Thanks, MJ. This space makes all the difference in our mood during the winter. Keeps the gardening fire kindled. 🙂 Safe journey back to France!
Wow, so many plants inside the house, I realy love this and you have an ideal window that brings a lot of light into the room.
Thank you! It is an ideal spot to chase away the winter blues!
Fabulous solarium Eliza! But poor old Wren needs a treats, she’s just skin and bones 8^)
Hehe, hi Frank! Wren looks so weak with hunger, eh? 😉 Nice to see your comment, thanks for stopping by. 🙂
Lovely retreat! It’s finally cold here today and we should get three or four inches tomorrow…(One of my Christmas cactuses is blooming again too!!)
Thanks, Chris! Those winter bloomers really help lighten the mood.
Lucky you! I love it. Happy Valentines Day!
Thank you, Marian! Happy day to you as well!
A blissful space……comfy Wren, many happy (and lucky to be there) plants, obviously well tended to and enjoyed. The hyacinths must smell delightful.
Thanks, Alice. Yes, it is a contented space for all, and the hyacinths are heady!
Oh, nice! Must be such a delight in the winter.
Thanks, Laurie. It truly is!
…and Happy and flowery Valentine’s Day! ❤️
Thanks, Alice! Happy, happy!
Nice winter garden!
Thank you, Judy! It helps get us through the winter for sure.
Beautiful! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Thank you, Dale! Happy VD back at you! 🙂
Thank you! 💞
What a bright and lovely solarium! You must spend many happy hours there in the depths of winter, especially on the sunny days. ☀️
Thank you, Barbara. It truly is a mood-saver, esp. as we start to get solar gain in Feb/March. A happy place!
It took reading through the comments before I stopped looking for the bird!
Ha, that’s funny! 😀
Aww….I love that garden! Best place for a cup of tea!
It surely is! Happy Valentine’s Day! xx
A winter garden is a life preserver that gets plant lovers through winter. Yours is gorgeous. I would sleep in it. Ha
Thanks, Flow, it surely is. The fresh air and perfume of flowers is so sweet! It is a nice napping spot, too. 😉
Awesome. Can’t beat that. A space to share with a dog, a nice cup of cocoa, and a great book.
You got it! What a refuge it is on a cold day (like today)!
Your plants look so happy and healthy, and I can see why. That’s a stunning spot for a winter garden (and the pup looks like he’s saying, ‘Can’t a guy get any rest around here?!’)
Thank you, Debbie. This room makes winter much more pleasant!
Nice – content canine and plants! Looks cold outside.
Thanks– cold and windy today, windchill 15F. 🥶 But the sunspace is warm, sunny and cozy!
brrrrrrr did you get the snow storm?
Amazingly, it passed to the south of us with nary a passing flurry. We were surprised to hear how much those south and east of us got!
Wow! that sounded pretty intense.
What a lovely view on a snowy day.
Thank you, Monika. It helps make the long winter more bearable. 🙂 💐
It looks inviting. I figured the cyclamen came from a place like this!
Thanks, Tom. Yes, a cool greenhouse, but so cozy when the sun shines (like today)!
Eliza’s winter happy place! Perfect and wonderful!!
Thank you, Donna, it surely is!
What a beautiful Winter garden Eliza and Wren looks so comfy! ❤ xxx
Thank you, Xenia. Wren loves her bed and my spouse brings it out for her on warm days and otherwise it’s close to the wood stove!
A beautiful spot to look out at the snow! You’ve brought some summer indoors 😊
Thank you, Belinda. I love the bright flowers that don’t mind the cool temps, and bloom all winter. The geraniums go outside onto the porch in the summer. It gets pretty hot in there in those months!
Oh, my! What a lovely winter garden. 😋
Thank you, Pepper!
What a beautiful spot to wait for winter to melt away! ❤
Thanks, E! I fill it with bright bloomers that like cool temps– cheers us during the long winter.
Great space! What is pup’s name?
Thanks, Gary. That is Wren. She’s about to turn 11, and feeling it, just like the rest of us! 😉
The heat coming through the windows must feel good on Ms. Wren’s bones and ligaments. It sure feels good on mine! Our Gracie likes the southern side of the yard in the winter.
Yes, they know all the best spots!
Perfect spot with those large windows and tiled floor.
Thank you, Vicki. Absolutely the best on a sunny day when it is cold outside. 🙂
How cool to capture sunlight like this 💖☀️💐 Thank you for sharing Eliza 🙏🏻
Thank you, Val. We all love hanging out here!
゚・:*:・。(〃・ω・)ノ Happy Valentine’s Dayヽ(・ω・〃)。・:*:・゚
Thank you, Cindy!
I’m a bit late to comment (that’s what happens when you live in Australia..) I noticed your lovely winter garden room, it looks so warm and cosy and cheerfully bright.
No wonder Wren is enjoying a sleep there.
Thank you! Yes, it is a pretty nice napping spot, too. 🙂
Your array of plants shames the two violets I raise. 🙂
It is true that nature abhors a vacuum, lol. It didn’t take long for me to fill that space after we moved in. 🙂
Sorry Eliza, but your flowers, as pretty and colourful as they were, were upstaged by cute Wren! I zoomed straight to her. Good that you included two non-dog shots 😉 , which got my full attention.
Wren deserves the praise, she’s a very good dog. 🙂 Thanks, Allison!
Oh, that room ♥️ plants, windows and a dog! It looks perfect would like to spend a week relaxing there! Thanks 🙏
Thanks, Helena. It is a pretty sweet spot to hang out!
It is like being outside in the Winter, how wonderful that is!
A lot warmer, that’s for sure! 🙂
OMG, what a fabulous winter garden and perfect napping spot for Wren!🙂
Thank you, S! On a sunny day, it’s the place to be!
Oh wow!!!! This is a wonderful idea, looks beautiful!
Thank you, it is a winter sanctuary. 🙂
I love this room!
Thanks, Michele. It is a sweet spot on a sunny day in the winter. The cat and dog probably use it more than we do! 😉
I am SO jealous Eliza!!! I’ve always wanted a room like this! What lovely garden 🙂
🙂 Thanks, Maria. It was a selling point when we looked at buying the house, as you can imagine!
I can imagine!!
This looks like a delightful place to spend time, and Wren shows it’s also very relaxing!
We all love this room at this time of year especially. Thanks, Andrea!
So beautiful.
Thank you, Kaya!
WOW! What a beautiful spot you have for indoor plants!
Thank you, Denise, it is a winter lifesaver! 🙂
I meant to comment on this when I saw it a while back. It’s so beautiful and warm looking! Nice to see your daffodils blooming!
Thank you, Julie. The daffs have gone by, but the hyacinths put out secondary bloom stalks, so there is still a bit of scent. It is nice in there this time of year.
What a lovely way to bring the outside in but keep the winter out! Such a hopeful space. Those indoor plants – especially when in flower – and all that light must transform even the bleaker winter days?
Yes, it is a lifesaver in winter… such a lovely spot to read with a cuppa. The pets love it, too. 🙂
