    Beautiful image, however 🙂

    What a transformation, Eliza!

  3. It certainly is pretty.

  4. derrycats's avatar derrycats says:

I’m glad we weren’t in MA when this happened!! Not ready for snow here yet.

  5. Sigh. We got it too.

  6. John's avatar John says:

    So cold but beautiful. ❤️

  7. Robin's avatar Robin says:

Oh wow!! Already! We have a freeze warning for tonight, but no snow. That’s a beautiful scene you captured. 🙂

  8. LightWriters's avatar LightWriters says:

❄️Looks like our western Canadian landscape in parts, as of a week or so ago but will be back above zero this week.

  9. Alice's avatar aiwtopaz says:

2″ 😳 ….good thing the Dahlias are cozy inside. 41° here, feels like 36°

  10. !!! 80 degrees here. Looks very peaceful, though.

  11. Tranature - quiet moments in nature's avatar Tranature - quiet moments in nature says:

What a beautiful wintry scene Eliza, hope you are keeping safe and warm! 🧡

  12. greendreamsswe's avatar Maria says:

    Very pretty!!

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Thanks, Maria… not as much as you got though! Should be gone by tomorrow once the sun rises high enough.

      • greendreamsswe's avatar Maria says:

You’re welcome, I believe our snow might be here to stay. It is very early in the season, but it keeps coming more and more. It looks like January outside. Ms H said something very wise the other day “Mom you have to understand, last year we didn’t get as much snow as usual, that means all the snow is left for this year, we are going to have tons of snow now.” Well see..

      • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

It’ll make for a great ski season!

  13. It’s an autumn wonderland! 🙂

  14. Oh my goodness, the white stuff has landed. 🙂

  15. krispeterson100's avatar krispeterson100 says:

Oh my! I take it that’s not a photo you took last winter? It’s beautiful of course but it puts a period to the talk about the end of the garden season.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Yes, taken this morning… hopefully, the 2″ will be gone tomorrow once the sun comes out. I’d known the forecast, but it is still a jolt to look outside and see this!

  16. cindy knoke's avatar cindy knoke says:

Winters here! Snow fell in The Sierras too.

  17. Val T Boyko's avatar Val Boyko says:

    Wow ❄️🌨️⛄️

  18. Vicki's avatar Vicki says:

Amazing. It only seemed yesterday that your area still had Autumn colour.
    🙂

  19. shoreacres's avatar shoreacres says:

As my Cajun friends would say, “Weaux! Sneaux!”

  20. pbmgarden's avatar pbmgarden says:

Oh my. Mind shift required! Enjoy the snow.

  21. Nice photo of what looks like a fair amount of snow!

  22. sandyjwhite's avatar sandyjwhite says:

    Brr…..Gives me a chill.

  23. David's avatar David says:

Very pretty and nicely captured, but oh, I am not ready for that.

  24. Debbie's avatar Debbie says:

Wow, such beauty — but oh, I’m sure NOT ready for it!

  25. Widdershins's avatar Widdershins says:

    And so. it begins. 🙂

  26. tomwhelan's avatar tomwhelan says:

What a beautiful scene! No snow here yet, but we had our first frost, which decimated my zinnias.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Thanks, Tom. And the snow still lingers here in the shady places, hopefully the next few warmer days will change that. I need to remove all the soggy, frosted foliage of the annuals!

  27. Oh my! Winter arrives at Eliza’s.

  28. Cathy's avatar Cathy says:

Oh, that was a shock! Hope you got all your flowers picked in time! The first snow does look pretty though…

  29. Murtagh's Meadow's avatar Murtagh's Meadow says:

Ohhh, looking a bit cool there

  30. An early winter wonderland dusting, very pretty, Eliza! That was a surprise!

  31. What a contrast to your last post! It’s beautiful, though, a winter wonderland preview.

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

It is beautiful, but I don’t mind seeing it melt (maybe by the end of the day?). It’s too early for me… the oaks and beech still need their time to shine.

  32. Adele Brand's avatar Adele Brand says:

    And so it starts!

  33. Happy snow. The subtle green and brown keep this from being a monochrome image.

  34. Pepper's avatar Pepper says:

Lovely and much more than what we got. 😊

  35. Yes, you did (I saw Wednesday’s photo after Sunday’s). 😊

  36. Is this from this year? The snow clinging to the trees is so pretty! We’ve had 2 good snow storms down below and many up high on the mountains. I haven’t gone out shooting though … taking a little break!

  37. Dalo Collis's avatar Dalo 2013 says:

😳 – this is not a welcomed photo (even though it is quite beautiful). I have not yet had my fill of autumn, and you are already teasing me with winter 🙂

    • Eliza Waters's avatar Eliza Waters says:

Ha, yes, the first snow is always a shock, but fortunately, it generally melts pretty quickly. This lot took 3 days, but there will likely be more where that came from. 😉
