Wordless Wednesday – 😳
This entry was posted in Country Living, My Photos and tagged first snowfall, nature photography, New England, Wordless Wednesday. Bookmark the permalink.

Looks like you got way more than us! Ours came and went…
Beautiful image, however 🙂
Thank you, Dale. I think we’re close to 2″ at this point… luckily, it won’t last long. Snow day, ha!
Oh my! We had a few flakes earlier today but nothing more. 2″ – not bad for a first snowfall 😉
Right? And if you follow the old wives tale, being Nov.1, we’re only going to get one storm… that might make my back happy! 😀
Oh really? I don’t know that one!!
Take it with a grain of salt… there is also the one that says number of inches indicates how many storms… so that would mean that we get 2 and my sister an hour north will get 5! So much for wives tales, ha!
Oh I do because it would be difficult to convince me we won’t get a single storm up here! LOL!
😮
An overnight change!
What a transformation, Eliza!
It feels like Christmas!
Wow!
Ha, yes, not that unusual to get some early snow, it’s that it was 80º last Saturday!
It certainly is pretty.
Yes, like living in a Christmas card. 🙂
I’m glad we weren’t in MA when this happened!! Not ready for snow here yet.
It’s been falling all morning!
Sigh. We got it too.
It feels so odd to have pumpkins, Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations subsumed by snow!
I know! I expected it to melt right away, but it didn’t. 🤨 Maybe on Friday 🤷🏼
So cold but beautiful. ❤️
Oh wow!! Already! We have a freeze warning for tonight, but no snow. That’s a beautiful scene you captured. 🙂
❄️Looks like our western Canadian landscape in parts, as of a week or so ago but will be back above zero this week.
2″ 😳 ….good thing the Dahlias are cozy inside. 41° here, feels like 36°
!!! 80 degrees here. Looks very peaceful, though.
What a beautiful wintry scene Eliza, hope you are keeping safe and warm! 🧡
Thanks, Xenia. Staying close to the wood stove!
Very pretty!!
Thanks, Maria… not as much as you got though! Should be gone by tomorrow once the sun rises high enough.
You’re welcome, I believe our snow might be here to stay. It is very early in the season, but it keeps coming more and more. It looks like January outside. Ms H said something very wise the other day “Mom you have to understand, last year we didn’t get as much snow as usual, that means all the snow is left for this year, we are going to have tons of snow now.” Well see..
It’ll make for a great ski season!
It’s an autumn wonderland! 🙂
It surely is! 🙂
So beautiful!
Yes, a winter wonderland for a day! 🙂
That’s a good way to enjoy it-by the day and not months. 😉
IKR? 😀
Oh my goodness, the white stuff has landed. 🙂
I take it you got rain? Glad this won’t last long, I am not ready!
We didn’t get any moisture. It was definitely cold enough, but it just didn’t fall.
Oh my! I take it that’s not a photo you took last winter? It’s beautiful of course but it puts a period to the talk about the end of the garden season.
Yes, taken this morning… hopefully, the 2″ will be gone tomorrow once the sun comes out. I’d known the forecast, but it is still a jolt to look outside and see this!
Winters here! Snow fell in The Sierras too.
Wow ❄️🌨️⛄️
And to think Saturday I was sweating in a T-shirt and capris! Yo-yo weather again!
Amazing. It only seemed yesterday that your area still had Autumn colour.
🙂
Saturday was 27C, Tues. -4C… too fast a change for me!
Yikes! That would be difficult for me too. My back and hip pain levels would scream in protest.
As my Cajun friends would say, “Weaux! Sneaux!”
Pretty, glittery, frosty this morning! ❄️❄️
Oh my. Mind shift required! Enjoy the snow.
Thank you, Susie. 24º this morning and frost is everywhere, glittering in the sun…quite pretty!
Nice photo of what looks like a fair amount of snow!
We ended up with 2″… very frosty this morning! Warmer days coming, yay!
Brr…..Gives me a chill.
Yes, it was 24º this morning, but it’ll warm to the 40s and melt it down, I expect.
Good!
Very pretty and nicely captured, but oh, I am not ready for that.
Thanks, David. Me, neither. I expect it won’t last, thankfully!
Wow, such beauty — but oh, I’m sure NOT ready for it!
Thanks, Debbie. I am sure it will melt, but it certainly was an early warning!
And so. it begins. 🙂
Yup, ‘fraid so. 😉
What a beautiful scene! No snow here yet, but we had our first frost, which decimated my zinnias.
Thanks, Tom. And the snow still lingers here in the shady places, hopefully the next few warmer days will change that. I need to remove all the soggy, frosted foliage of the annuals!
Oh my! Winter arrives at Eliza’s.
With a resounding whump! ;D
Oh, that was a shock! Hope you got all your flowers picked in time! The first snow does look pretty though…
Thanks, Cathy. Yes, I timed it right, now I have the task of removing all the soggy frosted annuals!
Ohhh, looking a bit cool there
It has been a cold few days… today we made it to 10C, an improvement!
An early winter wonderland dusting, very pretty, Eliza! That was a surprise!
Thank you, Donna, it was!
What a contrast to your last post! It’s beautiful, though, a winter wonderland preview.
It is beautiful, but I don’t mind seeing it melt (maybe by the end of the day?). It’s too early for me… the oaks and beech still need their time to shine.
And so it starts!
Indeed. Luckily, the last of it melted away today. A bit too early for it to stay!
Happy snow. The subtle green and brown keep this from being a monochrome image.
Thanks, Steve.
Lovely and much more than what we got. 😊
Thanks, Pepper! Yeah, it was a bit of a surprise given the warm weekend. The last of it melted today, yay!
Yes, you did (I saw Wednesday’s photo after Sunday’s). 😊
Is this from this year? The snow clinging to the trees is so pretty! We’ve had 2 good snow storms down below and many up high on the mountains. I haven’t gone out shooting though … taking a little break!
Yes, we had a couple inches that stuck around for a few days. A reminder of what’s to come!
😳 – this is not a welcomed photo (even though it is quite beautiful). I have not yet had my fill of autumn, and you are already teasing me with winter 🙂
Ha, yes, the first snow is always a shock, but fortunately, it generally melts pretty quickly. This lot took 3 days, but there will likely be more where that came from. 😉
