Delicate beauty. Lovely shot Eliza
Thank you, Dawn! 🙂
Only a pleasure
How pretty that purple poppy is!
Thank you, Dale. An annual favorite!
With good reason!

I saw these growing wild down my lane, and looking beautiful but when I collected a few seeds, they wouldn’t take in my garden for some reason.
They like poor soil, so give it another go, maybe choosing close to the road? I sow mine right when the heads ripen. The seed isn’t viable for long.
Next time I see some. There isn’t any this year but I keep looking.
Wow!! 🤩🌻🌻🌻💛💛
🙂 Grazie, Elena!
Absolutely gorgeous, Eliza!
Thank you, Judy!
Love the color and texture. Enjoy your Sunday, Eliza. 🙂
Thank you, Steve. We plan on seeing you later at 3. 🙂
Great! Looking forward to seeing you and Brice, Eliza.
I hope there are spots in your garden where the red poppies mix with the purple; that’s a fabulous color combination — to my eye, even more dramatic than that beautiful purple on its own.
Actually, I have to separate them, as the bees cross pollinate and red seems dominant. (I almost lost all my purples one year.) But occasionally the bees sneak in a cross as you see here.
It’s perfect! While contemplating what to write and enjoying your photo…I noticed a precious little visitor!
Thank you, Alice. The bees go absolutely crazy over poppy pollen!
So beautifully photographed!
Thank you, Hien! I love backlit flowers. 🙂
It amazes me to think that the original seed of these came from Orange so many years ago! Love their crinkly, crepe-paper petals.
IKR? Endurance! 🙂
I love poppies, there are probably 10,000 seeds in my garden and not one poppy. Great to see yours and in purple.
Thank you, Amy. These are reliable performers every year, thankfully. 🙂
Aaahhh yes 💐
🙂 Thanks, Val!

Thank you, Susan!
So simple. So pretty !
Thank you, John!
So pretty in purple, Eliza!
Thank you, Sandy! A happy annual event when they first bloom.
I bet!
Such a beautiful color. I’ve only ever grown the red ones, which are pretty enough, but that’s really a stunning flower!
Thank you, Tina. En masse, they are quite stunning!
Ooh, that is soooo pretty! I haven’t seen that colour before. Gorgeous!
Thank you, Cathy. An old heirloom my sister found in a garden next to her house 4 decades ago. It must be very old.
Wonderful!
Gorgeous colour on that poppy! So striking!
Thank you, Maria. A wonderful hand-me-down heirloom. 🙂
Gorgeous color! I had a dress in this very shade of lilac, and I felt good every time I wore it.
Thanks, Debbie. That would be a fine color for clothing!
Beautiful! I like the light shining through the petals.
Thank you, Rebecca. That is what had me running for my camera!
I love the purple color of these wonderful puppies! Is this as unique as I think it is?
Not too common, it is an old heirloom. I usually see red, white and pink, as well as ruffled variations.
That’s what I thought was more typical, but I love the purple!
One of my favorite flowers.
It puts on a great show every year!
It’s lovely. There’s one called ‘Drama Queen’ as I recall but I think all of them may deserve that name 😉
Thank you, Kris. This is an old heirloom that my sister found 40 years ago in a garden attached to an old Victorian house. Who knows where it came from? 🙂
Lovely photo! I do like poppies 😊
Thanks, Belinda! Their crimped petals are so unique and delicate.
Gorgeous flower and capture!!🙂
Thank you! 🙂
Beautiful!!!
Thank you!
💜 Purple-licious 💜
Gorgeous composition, Eliza!
Thank you, Donna!
Greetings from Aussie. Beautiful Eliza. Thank you! ❤ ❤ ❤

Ah, perfection. 😊
Thank you, Pepper! Hope you’re having a good summer!
What a wonderful picture. My favourite poppy colour too.
Thank you, Susan!
WOW! What a perfectly pleasing, purple, poppy pose and picture! 🙂
Love the alliteration… thanks, Denise!
