Hi Liv. I believe the plant you are referring to in your back garden is actually Bowman’s root (Gillenia trifoliate), a native plant. I wondered about it being a clematis, as its flowers were suspect. Then a few days later, I came across a post showing it as Bowman’s root.
You have one too? I picked it for an arrangement for the first time and I have a whole new respect for this pretty number.
