Thank you, Anne! It is hitting peak this week. I wish it would stay a bit longer, but those flowers are on a mission and can’t be stopped. 🙂

In your part of the country summer is glorious, Eliza. I’ve fallen in love with globe thistle and hope to try it here once the promise of rain returns.

How gorgeous! And I can almost hear the bees buzzing and see the butterflies flitting from flower to flower!

  16. Treah Pichette says:

Wow… the echinops is fabulous! Of course it’s all lovely, but I’m especially jealous of that because it’s the one thing I can’t seem to grow! 🙂

  17. What an appealing photograph, Eliza!

  18. shoreacres says:

Globe thistle is a new one for me. It’s beautiful, and impressive!

  19. pbmgarden says:

Beautiful combination of flowering plants. Your coneflowers look so fresh–they’re nearly done here. That astilbe is amazing. Thought it needed shade.

  20. Beautiful. Do you dig up your Crocosmia in the fall?

  21. Beautiful garden, Eliza. And I feel sure that all of your gardens look as lovely as this!

  22. Denzil says:

I’ve been trying to grow globe thistle from seed for the last two years. Eventually I have about 5 small plants. They are not easy to grow seed, do you find Eliza?

    • Eliza Waters says:

I have never tried to grow them by seed, but even divisions can be tricky to establish. They can be fussy, but once they’ve found a good moist to dry spot, they are happy. Good luck with your 5. (You might wait until Sept. to put them in the ground.)

  23. Such beautiful profusion…and it’s just part of the beauty in your gardens. Lovely, Eliza!

  24. Maria says:

Absolutely wonderful! I bet the bees loves your garden.

  25. Lovely flowers! Makes me think of an art class, illustrating how red + blue = purple. What a lovely spot to sit and enjoy with a glass of iced tea!

  26. LightWriters says:

    Perfect summer spot 🤗🥰🙌🏼

  27. Having swarths of color like you and the same weather I know how hard it is to maintain them. Before surgery was planned, I dumped truck load after truckload of free wood chips all along my gardens and then pitchforked them into place I fear having not done that my 3 years would have been for not with so little rain. Gardening is not for the faint of heart lol Enjoy your Sunday we did get just shy of an inch last night hope you catch a downpour.

  32. Cathy says:

Your garden is looking lovely Eliza! And the grass is so green! (Completely brown here!)

    • Eliza Waters says:

Thank you, Cathy! There are definitely large swaths of brown in my yard as well. I haven’t mown in a month at least, but had to do the shady edges yesterday. I haven’t missed mowing at all!

  33. Such a beautiful garden! 🙂
