My mother used to grow these when I was very young; my father often teased me by insisting they were ‘rude Beckies’ 🙂

  3. That’s a delightful image, Eliza! Your yellow and white combos always look so fresh and vibrant.

  4. Mine are blooming too, and I’m enjoying their pretty little faces.

Rubdeckia flowers are underappreciated, even by deers, which is fine with me.

Such cheerful flowers! 🙂 Great snap!

  18. Tina says:

What a happy, summer picture! Nicely shot, Eliza!

  19. We had a fair number but over time most of our Rudbeckias disappeared. I am now trying to reestablish a few that I purchased from Nasami. I hope ours become as lovely as yours. I can’t think of another flower that says summer louder than a Black-eyed Susan.

  20. So pretty against the green background!

  21. Maria says:

Is this in your garden? It’s very beautiful, happy colours!

So pretty! One of my favorite flowers. 😊

Lovely and how nice to allow a meadow-like space instead of manicured lawn.

Such a gorgeous pic and it’s beauty

  29. With Rudbeckia you’re in Texas territory. I think my mother might have planted black-eyed susans when I was a kid in New York.

  30. susurrus says:

I love the delicacy of this shot – how it shows Rudbeckias in a new light.
