This could be anywhere right here in the Swedish countryside, you even have the stonewall!
I didn’t realize Sweden has lots of stone walls, but it makes sense. All northern countries that were covered with glaciers must have stone walls, so much debris was left when they receded. And more surface every year when the frost heaves! I pull more out of my gardens each year.

My goodness, look at all the green grass! Very pretty, but so unexpected.
I know, this is rare for this time of year. The weather has been particularly unusual this year. There was a 14″ of snow out there a week ago!

Our snow also melted a few days ago.
It literally happened overnight. Originally 14″ from the storm, then about 8″ that was left on Xmas eve disappeared overnight. Amazing!
It must have been beautiful with a snow cover.
I can’t believe it from 14″ to nothing in one week. Crazy!

Your photo reminds me of my time in New England. There were stone fences everywhere. We do not have rocks where I live.
Glacial remnants– there are an estimated 100,000 miles of stone walls here. Mind-boggling to think they were all laid by hand.

Take away the New England dry stack wall and it looks like a scene from North Carolina.

It is really quite unbeliveable how variable it is!
What a remarkable transformation from last week’s snow. I suppose the milder temps are a compensation but I am wondering how muddy it is underfoot! Sending very best wishes for the New Year – whatever the weather! And of course hopefulness for the year ahead.
Thank you, Carol. For a couple of days there was a fair amount of standing water everywhere, as the ground was still frozen a few inches down, not allowing penetration. Most water ended up running off into streams into the watershed. Our stream and waterfall are still higher than normal, the falls were roaring!

That is interesting – I had not given a thought to frozen ground! The waterfall must be spectacular as well as loud!

What a peaceful shot ~ and it seems fitting for the last few days of the year, a bit of reflection and relaxation. We have a bit of this in Eastern Oregon now, a surprise flurry of snow Christmas day now melted, and a dreary calm outside today…which I found perfect for taking the dog for a walk 🙂 Wishing you well as you end 2020. Wow! That is very definitely melted. We had an extremely mild first half to December but the weather here is now pretty much normal for England. I think it’s a La Nina year with an upset polar vortex, or something like that.
