Thank you, Anne. These are some of our prettiest birds and are early nesters. It checked out the bird box, but I think they prefer a bigger open area, like my neighbor’s pasture where I see them frequently.
So sweet Eliza. I saw one a few weeks ago, but it didn’t sit still long enough to have its picture taken. Thanks so much for sharing. I needed that on this gloomy, rainy day. At least it’s going to get very warm.

Haha, your comment made me laugh. I looked up their symbolism: ‘As a symbol, Turkey vulture represents strength, perceptiveness, wisdom and seriousness.’ Not too bad!
That makes me feel better. Actually, it was pretty neat that they were hanging out on the porch. I enjoyed Robins yesterday. They will be heading up north soon.

Walks in nature and yoga both sound soothing. We all need means to take us away from the anxiety, even if only as a reprieve.
One of the best sightings in early Spring! Do you have a bluebird box Eliza?
Yes, it is! There is a nest box in upper left of the photo. The pair did check it out, but I guess it wasn’t to their liking. My neighbor up the road usually gets bluebirds in his fields, but I think my yard might not be big or open enough for them. That box has hosted wrens and chickadees, so at least there is that.
We used to get swallows in our box … very entertaining. Bluebirds can be quite fussy. They came here for years and then simply stopped showing up. Other people have been putting up boxes in better situations, so I can’t blame them! They are delightful though 💕

Why hello there sweet little creature, such a beauty! ❤ I had an unusual dream about bluebirds the other night and it really left me contemplating what the meaning of it could be. I never came up with anything, but now seeing this cute little one may set me on the path of doing some more digging… 🙂

My favorite songbird. Not only are they cute but they are nice to all the other birds too. We had boxes in NJ and now we see both Mountain and Western Bluebirds here. I put up a box and they look but others who are more aggressive always win out. 😦
Bluebirds are such beauties. Here, tree swallows vie for nest boxes, but with lots of older trees and snags, there are lots of sites for cavity nesters.
