At last, the earth is beginning to awaken here in New England and the spring bulbs are cheering us with their happy flowers. All are miniatures, so it is a small vase, my first vase of the year!
The daffodil buds are Narcissus ‘Jetfire,’ accompanying light-blue Striped Squill (Puschkinia scilloides), Snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis), and a purple Crocus (self-sown) plucked from the lawn, with a few sprigs of evergreen Wooly Speedwell (Veronica incana) to finish.

Envious!
Are you still under snow? Ours finally all melted last week. Hope you see Spring soon!
How exciting!
Truly! Thanks, Sandy.
Beautiful shots! The lighting is perfect.
Thank you very much, Cindy!
The flowers are cool 💐, I need to find a spun glass vase like that though ;)💐
Thank you. It was a set of three reproductions I got from Colonial Williamsburg many years ago.
SO beautiful to see: the flowers and the vase!
Thank you, Anne! Glad you liked it.
Hurray! How fresh and lovely.
Thank you, Allison. Hurray is right! 🙂
Spring miniatures are the prettiest I love your little posy and the puschkinia are a perfect match for the vase. Is it the photo or do you have two colours? Mine are all blue like the ones on the right, but the middle ones look violet.
Thank you, Liz. I’d say it is the lighting, taken at the end of the cloudy day.
So pretty and in the perfect little vase!
Thank you, Sandra!
Stunning selection, Eliza… as usual. The blue striped one is lovely!
Thank you very much!
This is so lovely to see this morning, Eliza. Yay, Spring has arrived!
Thank you, Donna. Its arrival has been more than welcome!
So beautiful and lovely. That vase goes well with thew flowers you selected!
Thank you, Hien!
Beautifully delicate – I love the squill.
Thank you, Andrea. Me, too. The delicate striping and stamens peeping out are wondrous.
So beautiful Eliza, happy Spring.
Thank you, Kim!
Oh, so pretty! Yellow & purple always remind me of Easter. Truly a spring color combo.
Thank you! All I need is a few brightly foil-wrapped chocolate eggs as props. 😉
Absolutely stunning. Renewal.
Thank you, Susie. It feels good to have things in the garden again.
The beautiful flowers and vase are perfect together. Plant lots of Crocus bulbs….🐝🐝🐝 love and need them!
Thank you, Alice. My lawn is bejeweled with them!
My first glimpse at those flowers. Beautiful. Absolutely love the vase, too!
Thank you very much! It is so exciting to have the growing season ahead of me.
I bet! Looking forward to seeing your garden grow.
Thank you!
Yes, spring is coming!!! Spring bouquets are always so delicate-looking, yet they are made up of some of the hardiest flowers! 🙂
True! Thanks, Joanna. 🙂
Just beautiful Eliza! So happy for you!
Thank you very much, Kathy!
Rejoice! No flowers in central Maine yet. 😉
I plant snowdrops and snow crocus in all the spots where the snow melts first. That way, I get to reap the ‘earlybird’ bounty every spring. 🙂
Hard as this might be to believe, I don’t recall ever seeing snowdrops in Maine.
What a perfect match those flowers make for that beautiful vase, Eliza! I love the Puschkinia, a genus I’ve only seen in photos.
Thank you, Kris. The Puschkinia self-sows all around my lawn, I never know where it will show up next. My lawn is confetti-covered!
So pretty! ❤️
Welcome back to the Monday vases, Eliza. I’m so glad spring has arrived with you; I can now enjoy all the spring bulbs all over again.
So so beautiful! If you published a book with photos of your vases and flowers, I would buy it! I just bought a book called, A Tree in the House by Annabelle Hickson and it is so lovely. Let me know if you ever decide to publish a volume with your images, I’ll be your first customer.
A true gardener who knows where to plant for greatest success
Thank you, Diana!
Isn’t it exciting to be picking flowers again! Such a sweet vase, all the more precious because it is the first of the season.
Yes! thank you, Cindy!
How exciting and beautiful, and the vase itself is amazing. Looking foward to many more vases over the next few months.
Thank you very much, Karina!
This is gorgeous. Vase and flowers are a perfect match. So glad spring is blossoming up your way. 🙂
Thank you, Robin. It felt so good to put this together, a creative outlet I miss half the year.
Yowza! 🙂 … that’s glorious. 😀
Thank you!
It’s still too cold where I am. Can’t wait for those first spring flowers. Hello, lovely to meet a fellow garden-lover!
Likewise, Selina!
Not many places that are colder than MA, are you in Canada?
In Ontario. ❄
Ah, yes! I follow a couple blogs out your way.
Beautiful in its utter simplicity. ❤️
Thank you, Bela!
Spring glory! Wow. Thank you for sharing. They are stunning!
Thank you very much, Lauren!
Wow – what a delight!
Thank you, Fi!
The flowers are beautiful as is the vase. My daffodils have barely broken through.
Thank you, Judy. Because of the length of our winter, I focus on planting miniatures that are the first to bloom. Winter goes on long enough; I am always ready to boot it out the door!
Really lovely Eliza. The striped squill is new to me, an attractive addition to the bouquet.
Thank you, Belinda. I love the way squill will self-sow and form sweeps of color right when we really crave it.
Oh yay!!! It’s that time of year again … spring vase time! Beautiful.!Although not showing a vase the last is may favorite … a very nice composition.
Thank you, Denise. I try to capture the beauty of individual flowers that is lost when you view the whole. It’s nice to have flowers at hand again.
I love the spring vase series and what a beautiful beginning!🙂 Lovely flowers and gorgeous vase.🙂
Thank you!
Be-au-tiful 😎
Thank you, Val! ❤
That is a beautiful vase!
Thank you, Maria. Handblown dichroic glass that I’ve had for a long time. Perfect for kitchen windowsill arrangements.
Very beautiful!

A gorgeous combination of colors and vase, Eliza. Hopeful spring message.
Thank you kindly, Jane!
Ah, so lovely!! 😊💗
Thank you, Betty!
Amazing arrangement. I would just label it “Joy”. ;-]
Thank you! Definitely what I felt when making it. 🙂
Gorgeous, Eliza. It’s nice to see flowers blooming in your part of the world as the sky grows greyer over in my part of the world! 🙂
Thank you, Rebecca. It is a good exchange as we each meet our opposite seasons!
Your blog defines beauty, Eliza! I can almost smell the flowers and feel the vase…transported to the Spring in your part of the world! ❤
Thank you kindly, Isha!
GORGEOUS! Be still my Heart!! 💖
