ooo, looks like a pattern on beautiful, silk fabric!
Yes, marbled silk! Thanks so much. xo
Dreamy. Reminds me of Monet.
Same here, thanks, Sandy!
You are welcome, Eliza.
A lovely abstract of reflections.
Thank you, Vicki. A beautiful day for sitting by the river, watching the endless riffling reflections.
Is Silent Sunday completely silent, or are comments acceptable? This photo reminds me of the beautiful glass I used when doing leadlight, and by extension a Tiffany design.
Comments are always welcome, thank you, Jane. This would make a lovely stained glass window!
Monet water lilies!
That’s what I thought of, too. Thanks, Cindy!
….mesmerizing…..
It was, I had to tear myself away!
Monet magic.
Thank you, Sandra. That would have made a good title!
Reblogged this on anita dawes and jaye marie.
Thank you for reblogging!
Oh, that ‘Monet’ blue… lovely.
Thank you kindly, Steve.
An artistic expression of nature 🌈
Thanks, Karen. I guess this is what Monet saw. ❤
Beautiful. It is like a Monet painting.
Thank you, Karina. Yes, very Impressionistic. 🙂
Oh, these colours 🙂 I love abstract reflections.
Thank you, Jill. It was captivating to watch. 🙂
I agree – very painterly. It made me think of Gustav Klimt’s blue paintings.
Thank you, Susan.
Gorgeous. Monet inspired.
Beautiful photo. It would make a gorgeous quilt. 🙂
Thank you, Judy. It would, in batiks!

Oh, Eliza!!! This is gorgeous!!! You must tell me what program you did this in because I thought I had an oil painting app. but I do not. I still wish to do the “painting” of my cats that you suggested. This is phenomenal!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you, Amy! This is pretty much right out of the camera, taken of wind ripples on the river. The fall foliage and blue sky made it mesmerizing!
Wow!! I really thought this image was done with an app. Outstanding!! I’m impressed!
🙂 ❤
Like a Monet painting…beautiful! I often wish there was a pond or something on our property mainly for photographing purposes 😉
Thank you, Joanna. That surprises me – I thought Maine was full of ponds, lakes and rivers. 🙂 I really love living next to water, it renews the spirit. ❤
Actually, we are only a few miles from Caribou Lake and the Aroostook River, but I was thinking more of on our land 🙂
Too bad there isn’t at least a fire pond for frogs and herons. 🙂
Reminds me to think about what I reflect, Eliza
Beautiful thoughts to you. ❤ Thanks, Kim!
Modern art!
🙂 Nature does it best.
If I were a painter, that would make a perfect image to capture.
Thank you, Kris!
Enchanting 💕
Grazie, Val! 🙂
Prego Eliza 💛
That photo looks so much like a piece of an impressionist painting!
I know what you mean. I sat by the river for close to an hour just watching the light play – so mesmerizingly beautiful!
Like an abstract painting!
It surely is! 🙂
Gorgeous! You do magic with your camera
Thank you very much, Ellen!
I love, love, love this, Eliza. Photographic impressionism at its best.
I sat and watched the water for a little while today, but I don’t think any of the photos I took will be nearly as beautiful as this. It’s been grey and rainy here, and the water had a silvery, metallic look to it.
Thank you, Robin. It was one of those rare combinations of fall color, blue sky and a good breeze.
Lovely. 😀 … Monet would be impressed.
Thank you! 🙂
Yes,Monet..seeing reflections of Hydrangeas..
🙂 Definitely open to interpretation!
Lovely colours and shapes!
Thank you, Belinda! One of those magical days. 🙂
Gives new meaning to ‘water colour’ art. Beautiful!
Hehe! thank you!
Love this photo – magical!!🙂
Thank you, I’m glad I was there with my camera!
Wonderful abstract, Eliza. 🙂
Thank you, Jane!
Reminds me of an Impressionist painting.
Yes, I agree! A la Monet. 🙂
Mmm so lovely and serene… 😍
Thank you, Julie. 🙂
Lovely!
Thank you, Fi!
Beautiful water abstract! I have been playing with water abstract captures all summer (post to come!). 🙂
Thank you, Donna. Can’t wait to see your post. 🙂
So peaceful Eliza. First I thought I was looking at a painting.
Thank you, Maria. It does feel very Impressionistic.
Yes! Exactly, very beautiful.
It looks like an oil painting 🙂
Thank you, the colors that day were amazing!
So colorful and evoking tranquility!
Si, gracias, Maria!
LOVE. I’m about to post a water pic on Instagram this morning. Great capture, Eliza!
Thank you, Bela!
Wonderful ethereal, Eliza, reminiscent of Monet.
Thank you, Jet. It was such a lovely day!
So artistic. Gorgeous!
Thank you, Indie!
Love it. I happen to have just framed an aspen reflection/abstract and it’s in a group show. They are fun to do and make good abstract wall art too!
Thank you, Denise. I do love a good reflection!
It looks like a Monet!!
Yes it does, thank you, Diana!
When I looked at it for a while I could see all sorts of shapes staring back at me. Great photo.
Thank you, Alison!
Beautifully painterly. Wonderful variety of greens enhanced by the other colours.
Thank you, Carol. Fall reflections are multi-hued and were a delight on this day.
