  4. Alice Pratt says:

Sure is a lot growing there! What is the yellow plant behind the phlox? Is/was there a wren family?

    • Eliza Waters says:

Yes, the wrens had a brood this spring. This is in the field edge where everything is let grow wild. The yellow is jewelweed (Impatiens pallida), while the orange is I. capensis. It is amazing how tall everything gets in a few short months. Frost will put it all down eventually. The cycles go on and on. 🙂

What a perfectly peaceful garden scene 🙂

  6. Beautiful. I never met a Phlox I didn’t want nor a birdhouse I didn’t think was interesting. You have them both. 🙂

    Such Serenity. Gorgeous, Eliza!! 💖

    • Eliza Waters says:

Thank you, Amy! Do you keep birdhouses? Bet the kitties would like the viewing entertainment. 😉

      • AmyRose🌹 says:

You bet I have birdhouses! Between the chipmunks running and bouncing around, the squirrels, and the birds who are not just near or on the birdhouses but in my gardens, on the grass, in the bushes … my cats do not lack for entertainment. I even have a friendly rabbit living in one of my gardens. No he does not eat the flowers which to me is a great mystery. HARMONY lives in my backyard. BIG SMILES!

  11. Robin says:

What a lovely place for the birds to live. 🙂

  12. Peter Herpst says:

Sweet. Vacant birdhouse and phlox in bloom tell us that summer is nearing an end as autumn knocks at the door.

  13. Kris P says:

I hope you have some weeks yet to enjoy the warmth of summer, Eliza!

    • Eliza Waters says:

Thank you, Kris. Leaves have already begun to turn, but I expect we’ll have warm days for a few more weeks. The past few days have been quite summery, but it won’t last forever. While I know you look forward to October, I have trouble saying goodbye to the warmth and sun. I really need two homes! 😉

  14. Christina says:

    Are their occupants?

  15. Widdershins says:

That is so beautiful! Our jewel-weed is orange, but looks the same foliage wise, very pretty!
