Great photos you must have froze getting them.
Thank you, Eric. I dress warmly, but I was glad to get back to the wood stove and a cup of tea. 🙂
Ice storms are the worst. Stay safe and warm!
Thank you, Peter!
Yes, I’d rather shovel 50in of snow than deal with 1/2in of ice!!
I hear you. Yaktrax help us get around without slipping and cracking our skulls. 😉

Thank you for sharing!
I needed to look up ‘Bokeh’…I’m glad at long last to know a word for that. Lovely photos…must have been a frosty party day for you & your camera!
Thank you, Alice. The temps then were balmy compared to the -6F they are calling for tonight. Brrrr!
Ooh, the bouncy light is lovely. Happy Winter, Eliza! These are gorgeous :).
Thank you, Sharon!
This is great, thanks for sharing!
Thank you, Maria. A bit chillier than what you are used to, eh? 😉
-2 here right now.
…and dropping. We’re loading the wood stove as fast as we can. 🙂 Stay safe and warm, Judy!
The photo of the icicle on the leaf is amazing! I have a warm fuzzy blanket on me right now for warmth. Brrrr!
🙂 Thank you, Christy! Stay warm.
Lovely photo Eliza!
Thank you, Belinda!
Ice may have a nasty reputation but it’s sure a great decorator!
It really is beautiful, esp. when the sun comes out and the whole world is crystalline. That pushed me out the door, camera in hand. 😉
Gorgeous shots. How do you work with a camera outside in these temps?? So cold here and dropping.
Thank you. It was around 20F when I took these. I can’t work too long when it is below that, esp. with the single and neg. digits we’re getting the next few days. Stay warm!
Lovely! Did you get freezing rain, then? We got two big snow storms, and now its very cold and windy.
Thank you, Joanna. It rained on Sat. then over Xmas, it snowed 4″ so everything is layered. Yes, now the wind is up and very cold… I expect it is extremely cold at your place. STAY WARM!
Hmmm
🙂 COLD!
Here, too. Colder this weekend into next week.
We’re in for a good dose of winter, it seems!
Take it easy out there! These photos are terrific 👀
Thank you, Val. Today, I’m staying in, way too cold for my taste. Even my downcoat has its limits. 😉
Ice storms always remind me of fairies, though a bit hard on the trees. You captured them beautifully!
Thank you, Mary. Winter can be so dazzling!
While I do not envy you the cold, these images you have captured look magic!
Thank you, Anne. It is very beautiful, but one must dress warmly to enjoy it.
Reblogged this on anita dawes and jaye marie.
Thank you for reblogging! x
Good ones
Thank you, Derrick.
Stunning photos, Eliza – ice turns the world into a magical place and a good reason to stay close to home 😊
Thank you, Lynn. It’s pretty outside but the windchill is just too wicked for me to venture out today!
I understand. My poor dog has not been happy about going out and comes back inside in record time!
Brrrrr …… It’s mighty cold here too! When I got up this morn, it was -6 degrees. I’ll stay in, thank you!! 🙂
Yeah, I’m not going out in this -20s windchill either!
Brrrr Eliza! It has been a cold winter. I checked Clayton temperature this morning -16° and -22° at the lake! Stay cozy and warm. These photos shine
Thank you, Kathy. The windchill today is so nasty! Bet you sure are glad to be in CK!
Those are some magical winter photos! It looks cold and beautiful!
Thank you, Maria. It currently is very cold – neg. 20sF windchill – gawd awful!
Beautiful. It looks so sparkly and pretty. We are -3 degs tonight, but there is a lot of nasty black ice about already.
Thank you, Allison. Black ice is so treacherous, strikes fear in my heart!
So pretty – especially as I enjoy the pictures from the warm indoors.
Thank you, Sarah. Definitely treadmill weather. 😉
That picture with the leaf is a little jewel. Stay warm by the stove. It’s a good time to read books you haven’t been able to get to!
Yes, I’ve been reading and staying cozy by the fire. Tea and freshly made GF cookies are my treats. 🙂 Thanks, Lisa!
Wow, everything encased in their own ice blanket. We woke to sharp frost this morning too.
Everything glitters! I’m dreading the sun going down, it’s going to be a really cold, windy night. We’re filling the wood stove constantly!
Many years ago I spent a winter in Michigan and my boyfriend of the time described ice storms there that left the trees looking like they do in your pictures. We didn’t experience this that year, though the lakes were frozen and I experienced ice sculptures on the street that didn’t melt for 6 weeks for the first time in my life! Lovely photos, Eliza, and merry Christmas xo
Thank you, Rebecca. Ice storms are not well received for the damage they do, but they happen at least a couple times a winter. Not every storm can be nice, light powder, much preferred, as they make clean up a breeze! Our temps will not climb above freezing reliably until Feb. Strangely enough, our biggest snowfalls usually happen in March, but by then, the warmer days help melt what comes.
Best to you in the new year!
Thank you, Eliza ❤ xo
Eliza, you can sure make it look beautiful! I like these very much.
Thank you kindly, Hien!
more winter beauty. So lovely.
Thank you!
Brrr – but still beautiful! Happy new year!
Yes, it is – thank you, Cathy!
Stunning photos Eliza! Stay warm! Wishing you and yours a happy New Year filled with lots of love and many blessings! ❤
Thank you very much, Julie. My best to you and yours as well!
Thank you! 🙂
There is something so very magical about seeing nature encased in glittering ice. Your lovely photos are a visual a/c to the sweltering temps of our African Dec/Jan summer! Stay warm and safe as you wait out for warmer temps!
Thank you very much. Glad to send a cooling breeze your way. This is the longest spell of frigid weather that I can remember… it just goes on and on!
Absolutely stunning! I looovvee Winter & this is a beautiful capture!💙
Thank you, Kim!
