    I really need to try one of the cupheas, the flowers all have such a unique design! So many plants, so little time lol

      IKR? 🙂 This one is highly recommended– a magnet for hummers with multiple visits per hour (we don’t have that many birds, so I’m assuming it is the same fellow). Astounding that the nectar keeps flowing for him!

    Funny, how life goes! I just saw several of those at the nursery Friday morning…after I’d made my purchases. Am not familiar with that plant….so today I’ll go back and buy one! Keeping Hummingbirds happy and well fed is important! Thanks, Eliza!

      I’ve never had a plant so often visited by hummers. It is native to Mexico and Caribbean, so I expect it is familiar to them in winter and when you look at the style flower, they have probably adapted together symbiotically. Perfect pairing!

      Thanks, Christy. I surmise the flowers have reservoirs of sweet nectar (that appear to refill, as the birds visit repeatedly). Maybe I should dissect one!

    Cigar plant: I’ll try to plant these. Hummingbirds do come, but they don’t have anything except my hummingbird feeder.
