This week, I’m following the acronym K.I.S.S. – Keep It Simple Sweetie, or should that be Keep it simple, Sweetpea?
Two of my favorite subjects– cats and flowers – are featured on a slim pocket vase with a painting by C. Pradalie of a kitty peeking out of a flower bed.
I’ve stuffed it with sweet peas in shades of pale pink, lavender, and purple with one cerise as a focal point. As you can imagine, its scent is heavenly.
Thanks to Cathy at Rambling In the Garden, who hosts a weekly meme to showcase what is blooming in our gardens. Wander over to see what gardeners all over the world are arranging this week.
So this one really made me smile. I so miss sweetpeas, and the kitty and the peas…….pure picture genius!
1+ Cindy
Thank you, Cindy!
Thank you! Maybe you can grow sweet peas in the winter?
That vase is precious! So lovely Eliza!
Thank you, Cathy. Who isn’t charmed by a little kitty face peeking out of a garden? I used to have a cat who would nap in the garden and this vase reminds me of him. 🙂
What a perfect vase for the sweetpeas. Simple is often the most beautiful.
Thank you kindly, Christina!
One of my favorite flowers, their shape, colors, scent… so lovely!! And the vase is also fantastic…
Thank you, Noortje, we share that delight!
That’s an adorable vase Eliza 🙂
Thank you, Aishwarya. It was one that I just HAD to own!
Beautiful ! Perfect ! Gorgeous colors ! The kitty’s eyes and nose are so cute. The crocheted cloth is so pretty! This would be wonderful as a framed photo on maybe a pale pink wall!
Thank you so much, Alice!
Love.
🙂 Thank you, Sylvia.
Sweet peas say summer at its best.
Definitely!
I think I am officially putting sweet peas on the list of flowers to plant – these are great!
Thank you, Sarah. I highly recommend them. I am hooked for life on these babies!
I also like that they are such a classic flower – at least in my mind, they are. It seems like something my grandparents would have had, instead of something you see every day at the greenhouse now.
Yes, there are many heirloom varieties. Definitely a classic!
Oh, that kitty looks like my naughty nipper! Because of this, I’d have to say that of all the vases you’ve featured, the kitty one is my favorite.
Thank you, Laurie. Yes, there is a resemblance there. 🙂
That kitty is a little sweet pea. What fun!
Thank you, Kathy. I do love kitties!
Your picture of the sweet peas and the cat vase is delightful/ I do love the vase. Cats and flowers are my favorites too.. Hope this hot weather doesn’t last long.

Thank you, Carole. It is pretty hot out there. Good day for wading at the river. 🙂
Delightful.
Thank you, Cynthia.
charming! I am also a cat lover, so the vase is very endearing.
Thank you, Ann. 🙂
Oh I want that vase…just too adorable…and yes KISS is perfect too. I got a couple of sweet peas to finally bloom but I hope more do even in our heat and drought. Next year I will try them in a different bed and plant them earlier I think. Then I can have them for a vase to adore…like yours!
Thank you, Donna. FYI, these vases were made in the mid-80s, but are available via eBay, etc. at reasonable prices, just in case you really want one. 😉
Oh what a pretty vase Eliza – and perfect for your sweet peas. I am so pleased you are having success with them – and have more than just the red ones!!
Thank you, Cathy. Yes, the red ones get their own vase. 🙂
I love sweet peas but I adore that vase! It reminds me of someone…
🙂 Yes, little Pipig peering through the blossoms!
A sweet arrangement in all ways.
Thank you, Dor. 🙂
Oooh – I love this one! Cats and flowers are some of my favourite things in life, too. And sweet peas are number 1 on my “If you could only grow one plant” list. Your vase is both very cute and very pretty. The colours of vase and blossoms really bring out each other.
Thank you so much. Glad to know another cat/flower lover. 🙂
Precious precious precious, Eliza!! The cats, the vase, the sweet peas. Just precious!!! How you put a smile on my face. Thank you! ❤
Thank you, Amy, it is a precious thing, indeed. Definitely a vase for you. 🙂 ❤
I have to hide things like that behind glass for now or they would be broken. My cats get into everything. I’ve learned that one the hard way. 😉
What a charmer Eliza! Very nice.
Thank you!
I can see that I am going to have to look out for pocket vases. Lovely vase and nice shades of sweet pea.
Thank you, Allison. Pockets can be tricky to arrange as everything wants to slide to one side or the other, but by crisscrossing the first few stems, it works quite well. 🙂
Simply adorable Eliza 💝
Thank you, Val. 🙂
Well, I went to school at UGA, where that was Keep It Simple Stupid. That said, the Sweet Peas are lovely as is your vase – I am betting the smell app is needed to truly appreciate your vase.
And your frangipani! Who knows, someday there could very well be such a thing as a ‘smell app!’ 😉 Yes, my husband says the same of KISS. I prefer the kinder version. 🙂
That is the first time I have seen the kinder version
🙂 Now you have a choice!
I am probably too far gone…
😉
Makes me smile from ear to ear! And I am sure I can smell the delicious scent of those sweet peas from here.
Delicious whimsy! 🙂
Those are the most beautiful sweet peas I’ve ever seen–the colors are so lovely.
Thank you so much, Lisa. 🙂
Well this is precious! What a vase!
🙂 That it is. Thanks, Heather.
Ha, that wonderful vase! A very good call to fill it with sweetpeas, it looks perfect.
Thank you so much!
Sweet!
Very!
Very nice, I love the vase.
Thank you, Maria. One of my favorites. 🙂
Ahh, this one’s my all time favorite so far, Eliza! I love love love sweet peas, and I *want* that vase.
Sweet peas are addictive for sure. I’m hooked for life. 🙂 Isn’t that vase just the sweetest thing?
That vase is so cute! I’m looking back at summer posts – it’s my favorite season 😉 I know, I know, embrace the autumn… hehe
Thank you, Christy. It is fun to go back in time and revisit warmer days, if only virtually. 🙂
