The garden is bursting with growth and new blooms are opening daily. It is keeping me pretty busy to say the least. Here are some of the highlights of what’s in bloom this week:
Here are the garden views of a just a few of my beds:
I’m linking to the following weekly garden showcase memes: Cathy at Words and Herbs and Gillian at Country Garden UK.
Gorgeousness abounds. What beautiful flower beds you have. I imagine they keep you blissfully occupied for months of the year…
Thank you, Lisa. I wouldn’t want to add up the hours -lol! I do lose myself quite blissfully for hours on end. 🙂
Your yard is such a testament to “abundance”, Eliza.
Yes, I guess it is! If there is a spare spot, I’m sure to plant something there. ;-D
a lovely glimpse into your garden, Eliza. Your back deck looks like a great place to sit out and relax and maybe survey your hard work 🙂
Thank you, Ann. Yes, in the summer we take all our meals out there overlooking the lower garden. Hummingbirds visit those red hanging pots off the railing. It is quite idyllic. 🙂
It is beautiful and I love the peonies!
Thank you, Cindy!
So nice to see everything looking so beautiful. I must make a visit soon!
Yes, please do! June is an outstanding month and this one is particularly floriferous. Everything looks happy. 🙂
Lovely shots. Lovely garden.
Thank you so much, Victor.
What a treasure trove, the iris is a particular standout!
Thank you, Belinda. I love that ‘root beer’ iris, it is my favorite!
Your garden is looking gorgeous as always Eliza. You are right about June… everything comes on in a rush and it’s hard to know what to look at first. I can only imagine how you must feel with 7.5 acres to take care of! I must say everything looks like it has recovered from your harsh winter very well. Beautiful.
Thank you kindly, Gillian. Luckily, we only tend about an acre, the rest we let go wild, except for trails around the perimeter for walking. At least the work is pleasurable in fresh air and sunshine!
Beautiful Eliza!
… Is that an aster in your front bed next to the poppy?
Thank you, Val. 🙂 To the left of the poppies are coneflower and perovskia just beyond that.
It was the perovskia without the flowers that I wasn’t sure about. I love your Braden choices Eliza 😎
Braden? Not sure what you mean…I only know Greg Braden, but I can’t think of a connection, lol! 🙂
Garden …. 😎
Ah, I see! 🙂 A new word for me.
You got such a lovely garden Eliza. Looks like a oasis i the midst of the forest 🙂
Thank you, Ann. It does feel like our own little sanctuary, such a blessing. 🙂
Wow!! Beautiful, Eliza. Your garden looks like a dream. 🙂
Thank you so much, Archita. 🙂 What a wonderful compliment!
So very beautiful. It must wonderful to sit outside and be part of it.
Thank you, Gigi. It is a great place to start and end the day, listening to the birds. Last night I went out and watched the fireflies. It was magical.
I love that mountain laurel. The fireflies are out here too. Summer has arrived.
Thank you Brenda. Isn’t summer wonderful? I LOVE summer. We just came in from a late walk to the top of the hill to view the moon and the fireflies in our neighbor’s large field – the childlike delight of seeing fireflies never grows old!
I think it might be dangerous if you and my mom spent time together. She’s got a green thumb (and a plant addiction!) like you. I got her plants for Christmas, her birthday, and Mother’s Day…and she’s delighted! One of these days I might have a quarter of what you do.
It is an addiction – at least it is a healthy one (I think!). My spouse and I were counting up the beds I tend and we came up with 9 (it used to be 12, but I let 3 go). That is a lot, I guess. They are not all picture perfect; I like to think of them as works in progress! 😉
A true garden of eden Eliza! You must be so proud of the results of your hard work.
Thank you, Dor. It is nice to get a chance to share my gardens with others, as I rarely get visitors and it has always seemed unfair not to share them!
So beautiful, Eliza. All your hard work pays off. So colorful and textureful. 🙂
Thank you kindly, Mary. Glad you recognize the ‘hard work’ part – lol! 😉
I’m as impressed by all the green as by the floral color, Eliza! Have a great weekend.
Thank you, Kris. Same to you. I’m spending it sweating away in the garden, of course! 😉
What a gorgeous garden you’ve got! 🙂 I envy you…
Thank you so much Aishwarya!
I love the foliage planting from the deck. The Iris is lovely, I can’t believe how much I love irises now, when in the past I hardly noticed them. Enjoy your garden don’t work too hard.
Thank you, Christina. I love those looking down on those textures ever time I walk down the steps!
such an interesting garden…
Thank you. 🙂
A goodly display, Eliza
Thank you, Derrick!
Eliza, you have read my mind! For the past couple of days I have been thinking that I would like to “tour” your garden with you, and then comes the post. Many thanks! Such beautiful gardens.
Thank you, glad you liked the tour. It’s been an amazing season so far – the best we’ve had in years, or so it seems! 🙂
If you ever make it down this way, you’re welcome to full Monty. 😉
The same is true in central Maine. What a year for flowers! I’d love to come see your gardens sometime, and also would love to have you come visit mine. Something to keep in mind?
Definitely, it looks like you’re about a 4 hour drive away, so it could work. 🙂
Please let me know if you feel like making the trek to central Maine. We do have a spare bedroom, should you (and your husband?) want to spend the night. Of, if you’re really intrepid, it could be done in a day.
Thank you, that is very kind of you! I will speak to my spouse and see what he says. 🙂
Wonderful!
The garden looks lovely and the flowers are beautiful. Your hard work pays off.
Thank you kindly! 🙂
Your garden beds are just beautiful, Eliza! They look carefree, but then again, Fred Astaire made dancing look easy. The sure sign of hard work.
😀 Thank you, Micheal. He did make it look easy! Thanks for the comparison, I’m honored. 🙂
Your hostas and geraniums in the deck bed are looking so healthy and lush Eliza! Lovely to see a couple of views of your garden. 🙂
Thank you, Cathy. Everything looks best in June, doesn’t it? Before the bugs and slugs have had their way with the garden. 😉
Love these pictures of your gardens Eliza! Beautiful just as I imagined. I can’t remember seeing photos of your gardens recently. That’s a sweet little birdhouse on your out building, too. So romantic!
Thank you, Kathy. I don’t often show my gardens in total. The birdhouse was a gift from my sister. No birds yet, but the paper wasps love it. ;-D
Very nice!
Muchas gracias!
