    The new leaves on a tree are such an optimistic sight. It’s like the appearance of swallows or gamboling lambs. I defy anyone to see them and not feel uplifted. 🙂

      Thank you, Allison! Yes, I can imagine that. Actually, they are not leaves, but tiny female flowers on a Katsura. When the light shines through them, it is so arresting!

      • Ah, I have some one year old katsura trees in the greenhouse and they have just come into leaf, so I assumed the same for yours, but flowers is more wonderful!

        As you probably know, there are male and female individual trees. I was lucky to get a female as they are multi-trunked, much nicer I think. 🙂

      I love that tree! I planted it 24 years ago with my then 3 yr old son. He came to me and asked if we could plant a tree. I ran for my keys and we drove right away to the nursery. I wanted to encourage that behavior! 🙂
