Each and every orchid I see makes me want to own all of them. This one too.

What a beautiful flower. Orchids have such unusual and yet exquisite shapes. I could never be an orchid. I’ve got the unusual, but the exquisite? Hmm, not so much. 🙂

  9. Laurie Graves says:

    Love it!

  10. I have always wanted an orchid, and I can never bring myself to buy one, as I fear it will quickly end up a former orchid in a garbage can. They are just gorgeous, and I don’t want to be the one who ends the life of one!

I understand the feeling. With the advent of tissue culture, the prices of many orchids have come down to be similar to buying a bouquet of flowers. If thought of this way, it might take the sting out a possible demise. I recently received one of those mini-orchids as a gift and was surprised that the care tag was so specific that it said to give it 1/4 c. H20 once per week! Maybe that’s all you need, specific care instructions. ‘Keep out of direct sun and water 3 oz. every Saturday.’ 🙂

Ah, so at least you have an opportunity to enjoy orchids close to home Eliza!

    • Eliza Waters says:

Yes, there are 3 college greenhouses close by that have nice collections and then the annual orchid society show, which has really unusual ones to enjoy. Thanks for stopping by, Kris. 🙂

I always see monkey faces! So wonderful when they bloom! I have a small vase of them from the library here – since Feb 14 – still blooming. So beautiful! One of my last two remaining orchids is also blooming for me – it hasn’t in years. So exciting. Interesting colors in this one Eliza.
