What I need right about now…
…because I’m having a bit of resistance accepting ‘what is’ today…
Spring is officially 34 days away. I’ve got a while yet to go, so I’m going to have to deal with what’s happening today.
Okay, I’ll admit it, it is rather beautiful. (Sigh)
Oh my Elizabeth that is still a lot of frost. I wish you many ‘spring’ feelings in the meantime. Beautiful photos!
Thank you, Agnes. Yes, dreams of spring are all I have at this point. 😉
Oh no……..:-( Those poor plants! I bet that driving is a nightmare.
Not going out today, thankfully. It is warming up above freezing now, so let’s hope the roads melt and clear before it freezes again. The plants seem to be bearing up.
Love this posting! I can so relate. It is nice and sunny here and we were just talking about how beautiful it is to feel the sun 🙂 Wishing warm days ahead for you.
Thank you, Kim. It’s that time of year. 😉
It is, indeed
🙂
What a beautiful sight. Just what I needed today. Thank you for sharing Eliza 🙂
Glad to oblige. Thanks, Ann. 🙂
This is exactly what we had a few weeks ago… but yes, it’s too special and beautiful to complain about what you really want… (be patient) 😉
Thanks for the encouragement, Noortje!
It’s very beautiful, but I understand how it is. It’s February, the longest month of the year (even when it’s not a leap year!). It always seems to stretch on forever, but then one day when we think it will never end, spring arrives and we once again forget about February’s blahs and blues.
Ha, that’s what I always say about February! 😉 Yes, it drags on but we get there eventually. Thanks, Robin. 🙂
I found a gift for you on today’s walk. Watch for my post later (it’ll go out around 4 PM). 😀
Oh, I love surprises (good ones, that is)!
Nodding agreement…
Lovely shots. I know what you mean, we’re supposed to get 20-30 cm of snow today!
Thanks, Belinda. It’s that seesaw time of year!
It sure is, just going outside to dig out the car…
😦 good luck.
😀
IKR?
What is that you say?
Shorthand for ‘I Know, Right?’ A form of agreement. 🙂
😀 Oi, I did not know that that was shortened too. I hope I remember. I have yet to hashtag something so you can imagine. Have a lovely day Eliza. 🙂
It is beautiful, even if cold. Counting down the days until spring myself!
GORGEOUS pictures. Glad you found a way to enjoy what is — at least a little bit.
Thanks, Natalia. As the saying goes, “Resistance is futile,” so it’s chin-up! 😉
dear Eliza, what beautiful photos! I love them all! It is snowing today—all afternoon, here in Wisconsin. I definitely feel your pain! Your GREEN w
Thanks, Jane. In winter we have to be content with evergreens, which aren’t all that vivid, but at least it is something to focus upon!
oh oh…hit the wrong button! I was going to say…”Your GREEN is a delight to see!”
Oh, that ice-coated oak leaf! Lovely. Bad weather will soon go. You were wanting some snow a couple weeks ago!!! Still, at some point, enough is enough, huh?
Yes, it is lovely Eliza, but I know how you feel… I’m counting the days too, although there are definite signs that spring is on its way here. Enjoy the sparkly frost for just a little longer and stay warm! 🙂
Thank you, Cathy. It’s been so up and down this winter, winging from one extreme to the other. Unsettling!
It is too warm here. Record breaking temps. Snow melt happening too fast. Things blooming that birds coming home will need 2 months from now, so their food won’t be here. Trying to be ok with it, but we need a couple more good snows. Funny how we are both trying to be with what is. 🙂
It can be a challenge at times! Esp. when wildlife is at stake.
These are really beautiful – especially the last one! And even if it’s not warm and sunny just yet, at least you had some sun. We were grey and flurrying all day. It didn’t keep me inside, but I also didn’t take the camera on my adventures this afternoon.
Thank you, Heather. Gray weather can get to me pretty quickly. I so need the sun!
It is beautiful but I’m with you…sun, warmth, flowers, color, and a sweet breeze, surrounded by GREEN things.
Yes, I really miss vivid green in the winter, and flowers, of course!
I agree- quite beautiful, indeed! Fabulous images! Jubilant cheers to you,
Smiling Toad
Thank you so much!
😀
Gorgeous shots! I prefer the first one. 🙂 Can’t it be like that all the time? We have a fresh blanket of snow over everything now (I live in Ohio).
Thank you, Eva. The contrast of the seasons is good overall, but I think winter is a tad too long!
I couldn’t agree more!
I SO sympathize!
Thanks, Ellen. We’re heading down the home stretch!
I love the beauty of the ice coating leaves and branches … Especially as I know it is passing 💛
Ephemeral is good! 🙂
I could use some green and warmth around here!
I was thinking of you this morning while walking Choppy – I was looking forward to seeing all your bouquets again come warmer weather. It was a nice, bright thought on our cold, wintry walk!
Aw, I’m flattered you thought of me! Yes, I’m looking forward to doing Monday vases again. I’m expanding my cut flower garden in anticipation.
It’s very beautiful Eliza. What I did’t know was that these plants could still be alive with this frost, it seems that they are any way.
Oh, yes, quite hardy!
Your photographs really are quite beautiful, Eliza. Sending you warm green wishes.
Thank you so much, I can use the warmth and the green! 🙂
VERY beautiful! 🙂 Hope you’re staying warm…
Thank you, Peggy. Yes, I stay close to the wood stove!
Glad to hear it. 🙂
Brrrrrrr
Yes, it is! ;-D
Hard to begrudge bad weather when it gives you such wonderful pictures! Still, it’s quite normal to yearn for spring. At least the days are longer.
Yes, that’s true. I think I was reacting to the monstrously cold weekend, followed by the gray skies dumping buckets of rain. Too much! I’m much better today, having enjoyed a good walk in the crisp air.
A good walk always helps.
Very true, like magic! 😉
This guy, in a neighboring state to mine, brought light, brought hope–leaving out the snakes–to yesterday’s nearby dark and cold. I thought of your (rather beautiful actually) plight. . . https://wordpress.com/read/post/feed/17831864/931465207
Thank you, Albert. Yes, lots of folks south of us are enjoying the start of spring. It’ll be another month or so for us. 🙂
Hang tough Eliza! You’re one of the most positive people I know. Spring will be glorious!
Aw, thanks, Kathy! Soon come, mon! 😉
Ice is beauty-making and your photos are gorgeous. It’s like spring today in Maine, I imagine you are smiling, too.
Thank you! Maybe very early spring temps. 😉 as it was only in the mid-30s here today. Better than that arctic blast we had this weekend!
Spring lives in your heart, Eliza. What a lovely Crocus Robin had for you 😉 Spring is a process, already underway ❤ ❤ ❤
Indeed it is. Sometimes the waiting is hard, however! 😉
Yes, it is…..
Those ‘ice-drops’ are gorgeous. 🙂
Thank you!
the countdown is on here as well … lovely images.
Thank you, Ann!
