For this week’s vase, I’ve used yellow daylilies (Hemerocallis ‘Happy Returns’), white flowering tobacco (Nicotiana alata) and purple ladybells (Adenophora confusa). Daisy fleabane (Erigeron annuus) is used as filler and a few lady’s mantle (Alchemilla mollis) leaves are the green.
One of my favorite vases is this cobalt blue one that complements just about anything I choose to put in it. My mom had a similar one when I was growing up so it carries a bit of nostalgia for me as well. It is set upon a vintage Jean Vier Basque linen napkin.

Beautiful flower arrangement!
Thanks so much!

Thank you kindly, Cindy! I love the wild and natural look, it matches my personality. ;-D
Absolutely delightful! ❤
Aw, thanks, Julie! ❤ 🙂
The top photo looks so gorgeous. Very peaceful and artistic.
Thank you very much, Fatemeh! 🙂
You’re welcome! Keep up the beautiful work! 🙂
So pretty! I always think of dandelions when I see that blue vase. 😊
…and buttercups! Thank you, my dear! ❤
Aw, so pretty Eliza.
Thanks so much, Mary! Hope your week is going well. 🙂
Lovely Eliza! The cobalt really does set off yellow and whites!
How long do the day lilies last in the vase?
Thank you, Val. Each daylily blossom, true to its name, only lasts a day. If a stem has multiple buds that are mature enough, they will open as well. I pull out stems that are finished if the other items are still looking well when I change the water every couple days.
A part of me wanted them to live a bit longer in the vase … I’d better accept reality 🙂
It works best if you pick one with a few buds, every day a fresh bloom!
Thanks fit letting me in to the secret Eliza 🙂
😀
Sweet as always 🙂
Aw, thanks! 🙂
Love the vase and love seeing your “creative eye” in these presentations. They are always so balanced.
Thanks, Kim. Glad to hear that, as I worked a bit faster than I normally do due to a time crunch, so I’m happy to have that feedback! 😉
The vase is just beautiful, and your arrangement is gorgeous.
Thank you kindly! 🙂
I just love that blue-yellow combination! 🙂
Thanks so much, Ana! 🙂
Nothing better than that blue-white-bright yellow combination! Nice.
Thank you!! ❤
Beautiful! Very francais – french country. Love the summery colors. I’ve been pulling out Lady bells because they takeover but I have come to realize I will never be without. They are marching up my driveway and the bees do love them.
Thank you, Kathy. I have always loved ladybells, and the little patch in my garden hasn’t got out of hand after several years (probably not ideal for them so they are slow to spread). I was surprised to see that the deer munched them in May…I thought the milky sap would deter them, but go figure.
Those deer will try anything! I remember when the rabbits actually ate my marigolds!
Wascally wabbits! 😉
Gorgeous arrangement!
Thanks so much, Mary!
Lovely! :))
Thank you, Peggy! 🙂
As always, a beautiful arrangement!
Thank you, Sarah!
So pretty, especially against that cobalt blue vase!

So pretty, Eliza. I have an antique green glass vase in the same shape, and love it. How pretty your blue one is with these flowers. I enjoy your bouquets each week so much. You are very talented with bringing out the best of your flowers. Hugs, WG

Envious praise, wishing for a fraction of your talent with flowers…..
