At last, there are flowers in my garden! While large patches of snow remain all over the yard, the sunny front bed offers up its gift of snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis) in the spring sunshine. I’ve been waiting all winter for this moment…the gardening year has begun!

WOO HOO! It’s sprung!! Loveliness~
😀 Thanks, Cindy!
Wahoowa!! Snowdrops! So glad you’re seeing them.
Thanks! 🙂
I LOVE snowdrops – since I was 3 years old, I remember them (when we lived in Maryland). We don’t have them in NM. I guess the soil just doesn’t support them. Thanks for the treasured memory Eliza!
Mary
Thank you, Mary, so glad it brought you a happy moment!
How delightful! Lovely little things, snowdrops! Happy for you Eliza!
Thanks, Julie!
They are so pretty! I haven’t seen snowdrops in ten years (since I moved to Florida), but I remember their scent.
Thank you, Ana. After our long winter, they are such a happy lift. 🙂
Hurrah! How could anyone not love the snowdrop. So pretty.
Thanks, Debra. For me, Spring isn’t officially here until I see these guys!
Hurrah! Lovely snowdrops – lovely spring! 🙂
Thanks, Dor! 🙂
What a gorgeous gift!
Oh, indeed! Thanks, Fi!
Hurrah for snowdrops. It has been a long wait for you. Here the first fruit blossoms are opening – today the plum and the pear not far behind!
You must love being in the path of the Gulf Stream! Early springs!
We are lucky!
More Miracles, Eliza! At first glance I thought these were Crocuses, but then I realized they are snowdrops. I just came in from outside attempting to photograph budding trees, but between the wind and the COLD, I gave up. Yes, it has turned cold here AGAIN with snow in the forecast. I will keep my eyes on my flowers! (((HUGS))) Amy
Yes, indeed. Two steps forward and one step back. Keep your eye on those budding shoots!
I most certainly will, Eliza. This weather has been something else!
Unfortunately, I know just what you mean! 😉
What a beautiful sight. I can watch spring flowers over and over…. and over again 😀
Yes, and they seem to go by so fast. Only a few days and they are gone. When I see snowdrops I know winter is done! Hallelujah!
But then again it is a sign that more flowers and beautiful green are coming..woohoo spring soon summer 😀
The first flowers, the moment of beginning, when it is all out ahead of us…I love this best! (Although the rest of journey is pretty nice, too!)
I’ve come to know the Snowdrops, but they don’t grow here, they’re so nice!
Yes, you’d have to keep them in the refrigerator! Thanks, Maria. 🙂
OMG, 😱
A happy day! Enjoy getting back out in the garden!
Thank you, Sarah. Winter is officially behind us!
And not a moment too soon! These are just lovely and such a welcome sight. YAY!!!!
Yay, is right! Phew, that was one long, cold winter. Thanks, Barbara!
Woo-Hoo! And I can see the ground! Finally the snow is melting. Eliza, here spring begins to break through winter’s grip, and you head off south! Timing is everything 😉 So happy to see your beautiful flowers 😉
Thank you, I’m hoping that when I get back most of the snow will be gone, at least from the sunny areas. The north side shadows will take a bit longer, but I feel a whole lot better seeing these cheerful snowdrops. 🙂
I’m envious. No sign of the scilla I planted.
It might be another month for those…don’t lose hope! 🙂
I can’t imagine anything better Eliza – Happy Spring.
Thank you, Karen!
Happy 2015 Gardening!!! Me jumping up and down-lovely!!!
Thanks, Robbie! It’s nice to finally join all the other bloggers who are ahead of me, climate-wise! 😉
tee hee…we are moving along but slow too:-)
At last is right!
Nice to hear from you BR, how are things in your neck of the woods? 🙂
Most things are OK. Spring is here which makes it much better.
Hallelujah! What a sweet offering. Like a surprise bouquet from your true love, for no reason other than enjoyment.
🙂 The best gift!
So glad you have some green back in your life after the long white winter 🙂
Thanks, Rebecca. This winter felt particularly long, so glad for the reprieve!
What a beautiful drift of Snowdrops! I just planted some – I hope they naturalize like this. HAPPY SPRING!
They self-sow quite readily. I’m amazed at how they have spread all over the yard. Yes, it is a Happy Spring! 🙂
When the first spring flowers blossom, it’s like a great sigh of relief. Spring really is here!
It certainly is. After this cold winter, it is a welcome relief!
pretty 🙂
Our first flowers of spring – they always make me happy!
These are lovely. I planted a couple patches last fall and was delighted with their appearance this spring.
Do you divide these, Eliza?
You can, but they will also self-sow readily if you let them go to seed. (Don’t mow until they’ve died back.)
It sprung – then it sprung back – It snowed here yesterday!
Thanks for the like – Best wishes Opher from Opher’s World
Yes, the weather has been unusual all year, starting with the crazy winter. Snow in April is discouraging!
I know a lot of folks aren’t happy with the cool spring, but I am loving it. The spring bulbs prefer it and they last so much longer, giving me a chance to savor their beauty. Thanks for your visit and follow. Appreciate it!
Wow, so delightful! The flowers look beautiful. 😊
Thank you!
