Oh how true this poem is for me. Ours avian friends have all seemed to vanish and only one or two accidentally find our feeder. A bird’s song in December around here would indeed be a “magical thing.”
I miss the birds of summer and their beautiful songs, but the cute little chickadees, titmice and juncos will have to suit until the migrants return once again.
Beautiful quote Eliza, and thanks!
You’re welcome, Maria! π Thank you for stopping by.
Oh, Solstice Greetings, most definitely. Lovely post:)
Thanks!
gorgeousness!
Oh gosh, it never occurred to me that northern winters lose birdsong! While I was in Costa Rica I used my camera’s video feature just to capture the wonderful sounds. I could really see a therapeutic need for a big screen TV playing the sights & sounds of summer on endless loop. Let me know if you want me to send my bird song video!
Oh, please do! I have a couple music CDs mixed with birdsong and flowing streams to listen to when I long to hear their soothing sounds. A video sounds nice. Here the stream becomes frozen and mute and the birds are so far away in winter. I’ve often thought of setting up a camera to record it in summer to play back in the winter.
This is so lovely, thank you Eliza.
My pleasure!
Beautiful….I like it! π
Thanks so much, Stormie.
So much to look forward to and what a beautiful poem. Thank you, Eliza.
Simple and lovely, I just had to share it, Barbara!
Oooh! Very pretty! Happy Solstice to you, too! π
Thank you, Robin!
